Found this recently, runs small maybe a man's USA size 7- fits on my little finger... thick, chunky, and engraved on the cartouche with a really detailed map of France with the date of the d day landings (in French) at the top... "6 juin 1944" - certainly an allied ring, most likely produced in France for sure...beyond that - never seen one before, I rather like it..,

Wow great find! I have never seen a DDay specific ring. If you ever get sick of it my shelf could use a piece like that. Congrats!

Never seen a similar. Hallmarks, material?

I'm not sure this is a hallmark- it's too hard to tell, but it looks not too dissimilar to various outer band marks we have seen. Join seam on inside looks to be silver solder. Hollow back but still hefty. From the looks of it, maybe an 800-900 silver, not Sterling for sure.

These two "dots" appear to represent Paris and Normandy

Mike, hard to tell from pics, but wouldn't be surprised if this is your hallmark judging solely by the shape. It denotes a .800 or better silver fineness. As I recall I have a French campaign ring with the same mark.

Yes, i would bet the French boarhead outside. Would be typical.

Love this piece, really interesting and rare ring!! It's nice but not as nice as the rings that come as prizes in Cracker Jack boxes.

great talking to you today Andy!.. Yes the SOS was a tough one. Not much for rings either PP or HR..
So ,,Premi rings go for a lot of money. IF you have pieces like this they are worth plenty!!

,,, So yes these are worth plenty! They are from the 40s? certainly the 50s. anyway.. IF they are from the time period maybe start a separate topic for rings from the home front.......

These rings bring back memories. The Cracker Jack Carmel corn was good too. Not like the stuff they sell today.
I wonder if that rings was "Sterling" silver?

Unless Cracker Jack used French hallmarks.... I would assume the d day piece was a GI souvenir. Sort of a prize, I guess!
