UBB.threads Forums Uniform & Accessories Helmet Forum My first helmet, how did I do?

Be honest here guys, please. I just picked this up along with a police belt/buckle and a standard K98 dress short bayonet together. I don't know a whole lot on helmets so if someone could fill in some blanks for me that would be great. Main question is: I have seen a lot of pics of helmets and in person but I have never seen these type of cords attached to the liner (See last pic with chin strap attached to these cords) what are these? I think the helmet is in pretty good shape, thoughts?

Patrick it looks to be an aluminum police/fire police parade helmet and it looks good to me. Nice find as for the aluminum helmets are getting harder to find.

Not bad at all. I prefer military helmets but as far as police helmets that's a nice one. Get ahold of me if you are ever looking for a combat helmet. I can point you in the right direction for finding a good starter helmet. You can find some nice no decal helmets out there for good prices and they are excellent honest combat examples.
