Hi guys has anyone seen government official's hangers with backings other than dark blue or black felt? My understanding is that they should have a fine smooth felt back. I have seen one with a corduroy type backing. Would this indicate that all of the felt has worn off? I did not handle them. Thanks and cheers, Ryan

There is for sure a third kind of gov hangers, those with the field grey/green backing. I personally would not say that all these different gov hangers do have backings of felt but have velvet backings. Up to now even on highly worn down dagger hangers (what kind ever) there was always a certain amount of velvet remaining. A corduroy backing would be new to me. Perhaps a period repair as hangers in general did wear down fast? Regards,
