I've not seen this type before, it's not your normally seen style, this one is in the shape of a double oval, it's a paper tag that was at one time glued onto something, it's about 40mmx30mm, personally I think it was stuck onto a paper bag of some sort probably for a dagger and obviously pre 1935 before the stadard Eickhorn control tags .

Gary, I owned one years ago but sold it a few SOSs ago. If you look to Skipper Greenwade's "Me Fecit Solingen" (page 86), he identifies an drawn depiction of a gold foil adhesive seal used on hangers and accoutrement packages purchased from the Eickhorn showroom or by a salesman.

Hi Andy
Thank you so much, I had been wondering what it was for, never seen anything like it myself.

Cheers

These seals are 100% correct and were found on the celluloid wrapped hangers and knots sold by Eickhorn. I had several of these that came back with a vet many years ago.

Ahhhh, I believe your correct James. I had owned it for countless years, but have no clue where I picked it up. They are very cool!
