These are Gaspare's- not mine or in my possession... so first, an interesting piece it's a cigarette holder! Maybe ivory or bone as the mouthpiece- and a single cuff link- well marked, we are familiar with this maker! Any thoughts are welcome, let's get our minds stimulated with a good discussion!

Due to the very even structure of the mouthpiece I personally would tend to think that it is artificial ivory. At least for dagger grips those very even structures are a sure sign for artificial ivory. Regards,

From the texture of the plate of the cufflink it seems Fahrner loves to cast some items Stunning pieces!

More from Gaspare on the topic, in his own words... " This was part of the cuff-link/cigg holder grouping [there is more]. Again,,I don't know if the skull is bone or ??. Lightly scratched on top of head is 'Dachau'... - The cigg holder mouth tip,,its either bone or ivory. Andy touched upon something,,it does have a ivory type pattern to it. I can tell you it is not plastic [I performed test].
With it is my Great Uncles lighter.. On the other side is his name and unit stamped with the same stamps.. The lighter was in much better condition and was in working order. but it went thru the Sandy flood!"

The link does work but in the forum the pic does not show up, so here it is:

Mike, the cigarette holder looks to be ivory, probably Asian elephant type very common to the period. The Dachau skull is bone. Not saying what kind of bone, but there were some pretty morbid war souvenirs, so anything is possible. The lighter is cool too.
