For all who have Carl Julius Krebs army or 2nd Luft daggers I'm looking for the small single oval maker mark and the position on the blade relative to the crossguard. If anybody has any examples I'd be interested in seeing them. As with most I have seen they have been positioned quite low on the blade perhaps 25-30mm below the guard, the one I am showing is placed way down near the crossguard.

Gary,

There are two single oval and two double oval TMs used by CJ Krebs. The differences are the single vs double oval and the size of the mark itself.

Here are shots of my single oval, and also my double ovals. The single ovals are pretty far from the crossguard, the double ovals are pretty close and the Voos-style etch version, as expected, is close.

Serge,

Last year I acquired 2 Luft daggers by CJ Krebs, one was a plain blade & the other had a Voos style etch. Both had the small, single oval maker mark & had high quality plated blades.

Hi Gary,

Yes, my Krebs etched Luft appears identical to a Voos etch, including the sprigs. Working on a different computer & don't have a resizing tool but can email you some pics.

Thank you to everybody, great information here too help me.
John, that's an interesting blued panel, it looks to be the same style as the two in TW's book.
