Alpaca with bronze looking skull

I saw this somewhere and had the same question- I'm not sure. I know there's brassy skulls (it looks hollow too) and wider bands
Like this, the markings seem to be right, but the Frey mark seems a bit fuzzy- to be honest I didn't know Frey made this pattern. That's what an alpaca mark should look like and I see a join seam- since it's alpacca it wouldn't have an 800 which is usual, behind the skull. So it's a tough one- I'd have to lean toward good though- but I hate the fuzzy stamp and the fact that someone scratched the insides. I'm just not sure it's TR period- maybe earlier. That's my best guess on it...

Thanks, I purchased it since it looked promising, hollow skull and looks old, ww2 or possibly ww1 like you said. If anyone else cares to comment, I'd like to know what you all think.

I see no problem in this ring.
But i think it got a unprofessional cleaning.

Received the new addition and it is very detailed and genuine IMO. It has a similar band to the one above it, but that one is silver.

this is my opinion on this alpacca marked skull ring this is the first time i seen this outside stippling hammered design to the shank sort of like the naval dagger it was an option i prefer the hammered design on the naval dagger but this is a little confuseing because i never seen one with alpaca markings along with the frey markings those frey markings is whats telling me its period the skull has been pined which its surposed to be in my opinion i have all green lights here on this skull ring that its period made hope all agree and thank you for showing us guys here a very unusual period skull ring god bless all andy militarynut

I see a similar band as mine in the Robin Lumsden book.

I'd sure like that (or any!) SS pp ring in the center!
