And a happy new year 2017 to everyone on the forum! Best way to "ring" in the new year for us is with a sincere wish for each of you to
find that missing piece you've been longing for... I hope 2017 brings you that much closer to your holy grail of rings... with the help of a member here- i was able to get a piece I've always wanted, truly a holy grail of skull rings (I will post at some point later perhaps, but my family and I are on the way out!)... in our neck of the woods we do a st. Silvester eve celebration as there is an ENORMOUS German presence here- we will do bleigiessen- the molten lead dropped in water then read for a 2017 fortune- and watch the ball drop at 6pm (midnite in Germany! -great if u have little kids like us!) ... what's your wish for 2017? And how will you spend the New Year's Eve?

I remember this tradition from when I were a wee lad in Duisburg.. it's awesome! :-) Me, mainly trying y best to keep my Doggie calm, it's INSANE here in downtown Reykjavík, the noise and smoke they make... he dioesn't like that, to say the least... well shows how smart HE is! ;-) Mark NS Happy New Year 2017, let's make it the year of years!

Nicely put, mark! And I agree, let's make 2017 a great one! So, the usual January "lull" in the action will hopefully change quickly for all of us to the pre-sos February rally in both quality and quantity of nice available militaria... mines getting a slow start, but a start nonetheless- got a couple of nice USA rings recently- a nice mercury-head dime ring (I didn't have one of these yet... and a unique CBI piece- I now have 3 (one with the enameled shield, my "star" of India piece, and this one with the Taj Mahal- a very cool and rather rare CBI design I believe)... it's not much, but it's a start! I had to put a PGC ring up on wafs us militaria table to make way for the new pieces, but that's all part of the hobby! Best of luck to you all in your hunts this year!
