Just based on these photos I would say this is a "bogus" inscription.

It is little more than a curiosity piece with that etching, in my opinion. I have seen others similar to this and the depth of the motto is always deeper than the claimed 'original inscription'. Easy to see with a good close up magnifier.

The Toads did do a great job cleaning the reverse blade surface before applying the bogus etch.
