Are you guessing? It is OK, why do you think it might be Italian?
Thank you for posting.

Hey no prob Jim I don't usually I'm a ring guy but love the daggers too wish I had more, but my big 3 wil have to do for now (early heer, early SA and early RAD em hewer)! Here's why I think maybe Italian- (and yes- guessing i could be very wrong!) first of all the scabbard with its diagonal loop/hanger seems to be common on the daggers there, like the mvsn and even the multilati veterans... that's what I thought of the scabbard shape, looks kind of undulated - seems like it would go well with the style of the mutilati dagger. Grip kind of like an Italian fighting knife but looks different than the blade which again looks a little (not much honestly but a little) like the mutilati shape blade. For what it's worth, just my uneducated 2 cents - it looks really neat jim maybe it's related in a way like a nearby country's dagger? Thanks for hearing me Jim I'm a rookie but I appreciate the kind reply to my rookies guess!

Jim,
Strange scabbard. I've never seen one like it.
The knife grip reminds me a bit of a butcher knife, but with a crossguard.
Am I correct in thinking that the diagonal brass device is so it can be worn at an angle on a belt?

hi jim n members mike is right on target saying that this scabard is italian with the brass bar going diangly i would guess 1890s used by the fachist in ww2 . also the metal ribbing on the scabard gives it away those two clues i never seen a knife like that i would guess it doesnt belong to the scabard but try and ask an italian dealer in these fascist knives. hey mike keep up the good work student number 1 you have sharp eyes last jim please let us know what you find thanks every one merry christmas to all andy militarynut

Thanks guys. Dave, the angled brass belt loop is for angular wear on the belt and the responders are correct. That is very Italian.
As far as me finding out what it is, I think you guys just told me. This is/was one of Bob's daggers and I really appreciate your help.
Exciting that we are probably speaking of a WWII fascist dagger.
Again, thank you
Any thoughts on unknown dagger number 1?
