Real nice catch ! Quality is is there with the 121/34's ( as well as the 120/34 and 188/35's IMO) I assume you checked to see if the # is in "The Key" ? George

I also have a NM 807/36 (very high quality) I really like the SS early RZM daggers. In gernaral they have the SAME quality as the M33 type. Same materials and quality. I think the early RZM's need more respect!

I agree with you about the early RZM's Rader. I missed a good one a short while back.

No doubt about it, they are undervalued. Compared to maker marked examples, early RZM pieces are still a good value for the money, although they are not inexpensive by any means. I do feel that this will change as maker marked pieces continue to climb out of reach for a lot of collectors. The 121/34 I owned up to two years ago put my Klaas to shame as far as fit. It also featured an ebony grip, compared to the Klaas's dyed one.

My 121/34 is the only dagger I own out of seven EM 33s that has an ebony grip. It is heavy, well constructed dagger with a blued scabbard.

I have seen 120/34, 121/34, and M7/29 SS daggers - That I feel left the factory this way - with both anodized and painted scabbards. I have also seen a few where I suspecte that the original anodized scabbard was replaced with a painted one from an NSKK dagger. Dave

Dave,
If you don't mind me asking, how would you be able to tell the difference between an original factory painted SS and a painted NSKK scabbard...just curious.
Thanks,
William

William... NSKK's are painted over brown anodized SA scabbards. Original factory SS painted scabbards are black paint over bare metal. There may be sanding lines visible underneath the paint. There are also period SS repaints where the bluing has failed and the scabbard was painted over the bluing.

In my opinion, there is no difference at all between the first anodized NSKK and SS scabbards - Absolutely none.
As to the later painted SS and NSKK scabbards, they can be the same. Some had nickel silver fittings and most had plated steel fittings. Paint job is the same.
There are also early SA daggers that had their scabbards painted black to denote NSKK.
