Good morning guys, just a quick question. I just bought over the weekend a Paul Weyersburg DRP marked postal bayonet. What would the proper knot/troddel be for this bayonet? I'll post pics of bayonet as soon as I receive it (bought on the internet). thanks in advance.

Patrick,

The Postschutz KS98 knot is grey/silver with orange accent lines. I'll try to post a picture of mine when I get home. Origibal examples are fairly scarce.

Hello, here is mine which did come with several PS docs of the former wearer (did have a photograph of the group but cannot find it in the moment, has also been anywhere in the forum). But the color of the acorn cap (orange) does not come right (perhaps due to the red velvet background).
So I add one with only a shoe, once offered by Maederer. There the colors are much mire near the original appearance.

Spare PS troddeln are rare as henīs teeth, even attached on proper bayonets they are quite rare. And naturally there are also faked ones around.

Hello Patrick69, I am not into belts and buckles. But I do let the group together although I already have gotten good offers for belt+ buckle.
If I ever sell it it will be only as group.
The leather parts are corresponding stamped, a sign they have been DRP property.
Long ago I have seen an equal group offered by Tom Whittmann (these were the days items have been offered per written cataloge), I did miss it only for days... And it needed a lot of years for me to get this one.
Regards,

This one had a surprise when it arrived, a unit marked frog for the DRP in Regensburg.

My postal bayonet arrived yesterday. The bayonet itself is nice but the scabbard has been repainted at some point. It is what it is I guess, I only paid $145 for it so I'm still good I think. It is marked DRP 1144 on one side and Paul Weyersburg on the other. I still need a frog and hopefully someday a knot for it.

As said in my post, the frog of my bayonet and the leather of the belt is also DRP marked, in combination with the certain location of the PS force - abbreviated.

On one side I do appreciate such detailed photographs very much, this way the beginners and also the advanced collectors are able to learn as I did and do. On the other hand, I personally do avoid showing markings of my items any more as there are a lot of crooks which use such specialised forums to fake or fake by altering or addition. And it is quite an easy task to add the certain stamping to an otherwise common walk out frog.
I hope you do understand what I wanted to express an do understand my attitude.

@Patrick69, it would be nice to show us your rare bayonet.
Thankīs in advance.
