Long story, but life has been kicking me in the butt lately and but it's made me realize what I want for my newest tattoo. I want, "I was yours." translated into German. Simple as that. I asked my Oma and she said it was "Ich bin dein gewesen." I don't speak German (yet I plan to learn soon) so I just want to be sure that this is the correct translation before I get it tattoo'd to my body. Thanks in advance.

Hello Lorelai, sorry for delay, I do see your thread now for the first time. Yes, your grandmother is right (arenīt that grandmothers always??? ), a shorter form could be: Ich war Dein (or "dein" with small first letter) = I was yours. Ich bin Dein (dein) gewesen = I have been yours. Regards,
