Would appreciate some of you guys expertise in helping identifying a maker mark on a butcher blade bayonet. The weapon itsself is in great condition but part of the marking is worn. This is what I can identify --_ OHTEL & SACH SC--- LINFORT I may be off on my blank spaces. There is a tiny crown on the Quillion. My eyes just aint what they used to be and I would really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Klinge:
Those are the F Herder crossed keys on the blade.
Fisher describes this maker mark as 'Fichtel & Sachs as distributor and Herder, Friedrich, as maker' on a bayonet.

Hi John
It is only to show the "Fichtel & Sachs marking". It is the same without the keys. Herder is the supplier of the blades. In 1915 F&S bayonets have the keys on their blades. Until 1917, the blades are found with or without the keys. In 1918, no blades are recorded with the keys.
