hi mike
in my honest opinion your nva pith helmet is all original shows the honest combat wear in the right places including the star emblem on the front . this helmet just speaks to you god bless these vietnam veterans bring back thier viet nam items also what they went thru is unbelievble in this war. my brother in law 1st marine division wounded two times he was in the thick of it thank god he came home . and please remember this he like outher seasoned vets were told same thing he flew in to jfk airport and was told to exit with his marine buddies from the back of the airport as there were the abbie hoffman protesters that was a degrading time in our country for our returning veterans who didnt ask to go but did thier job god bless all of our veterans then and now god bless america our home sweet home. mike great find see you at the max show best andy militarynut

I’m not saying good or bad but, what makes this helmet a period piece? I don't know if I've ever seen a war time patriotic paint job.

Byz,,,, well know you know,,NVC stuff is more faked than even Nazi stuff!!!! Hat, tunics, medals, patches, crossbows, lighters etc...
Now,, IF the hat itself is period I think you still did good and a worthwhile piece..

Byzanti, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Believe me I've been on the receiving end more then once. As Gaspare said fake or enhanced NVC/VC as well as US Vietnam era items are big business now. You have the same people using the same equipment and materials putting out patches, uniforms, flags and all the accoutrements of war along with a pile of surplus.
