Came across this (very German style, but Japanese) diplomat sword and could not resist it...
Anyone has another one to show?
I believe that the red leather grip is a (wrong) repair.

The guilding and hand crafted finishing is actually much better than those of most German swords of that period...

hi herman very nice japanese dipo sword i had one around twenty years ago sold it at the max show guy from california bought it along with a ww2 english pilots sword these japanese dipo swords are great quality workmanship just as nice as the german my dipo sword i believe had white shark skin over wood so i believe your right it looks like it was replaced at some time best of luck with your nice japanes dipo sword thanks for showing us guys andy militarynut
