Hi guys, will post pics soon...but I got some great stuff today from the estate of the recently deceased widow of a ww2 navy man, and I was lucky enough to get about 10 items, all named to him, and a bit about his life,,, so continue my Memorial Day tradition I started here with a brief memorial...U.S. naval petty officer second class Merlin Lee Osborn was a Soundman during ww2...he was from greensburg, pa. He was born August 28, 1923 and died in Saxonburg, pa in July of 1987. After the war, he worked in steel industry, holding a number of patents as an inventor. I have his service number, his duffel bag, his navy blues, and his shirt with the ruptured duck. I got a set of undress whites, and 2 sailors hats,. A couple other odds and ends,..most interestingly a 48 star flag that was hand sewn by a mamaux awning and tent manufacturing company here in Pittsburgh, that evidently closed its doors at the location of its manufacture in 1956. The founder of said company was also a patent holder for a "trick gun," go figure...thanks for reading the post, pics coming soon. God bless, Mike
