I'm not sure if this is a m1902 us sword with a broken hilt or something else, on account of the engraving...didn't want to send it to miscellaneous edged weapons, since I think it's American...please move to right forum if I'm wrong here...any ideas what it is?

This sword is made up of some M1902 US Army Officer Saber parts. It is not a military sword however and the outside branch of the guard is broken off so it has major damage. These were made up as fraternal organization swords with this lion head pommel and backstrap.

I hope this is helpful.

You know I think the sword might be Italian or Belgian actually, same era as the US 1902, but the scabbard is much fancier than ours.
