1st I would like to know who the heck Fred Fokelman the moderator of this section is?
I don't think he has posted in 10 years! But this site has so many Jimmy Hoffa type moderators I wouldn't be surprised if most are in witness protection plan!
Dave Wonderful job with moderators!
The Lavonia Military show March 29
I had sold a luft scabbard and my buddy said lets check out the show and deliever it!
So we took the ride! Sunday only dealers 7 am public 9am till 2pm!
Tables cost 25.00 but was sold out!
Anyway these are the shows that can always have something happen!
Most of the dealers proably never knew what was in the room!
I saw a full handfull maybe 2 of SS cufftitles! Lady says she has 50 more at home!!!!
Now what I am getting at is not who got them or tried but that small shows sometimes bring out the stuff!
My eyes darn near popped out!
Now I like to tell collectors and sometimes take pics of shows not that many folks here on GD pay attention!
I like to say the Lavonia SS cuff title hoard as thats what it was!
I was sitting at Walter Dugeons table for quite a spell and looking at some super SS cufftitles he had bought and a super 1 look SS ring!
Now Walter works the shows and is a real player! Even if the show is dinky he has 8 tables and has his customers in cloth etc.
I see Mike Bando the guy who wrote the SS insignia book with Beaver was at show!
Now many locals were standing around and they like many area shows have collected for a 100 years!
continue! next

Noticed a lady and couple of fellas looking at Walters stuff and talking to her!
Seems a ladies husband died and she is intrusted with selling her husbands stuff!
I quess her parents have a antique store and has had stuff such as cuff titles out and seems some locals have seen them!
She has been on internet looking! And I bet many local collectors just don't know how to handle this stuff once the price is above 1960 prices!
One collector said the guy who died had a few SS daggers he got but were parts and such! He didn't do well with the daggers! But the dead collector sure did well with SS cloth and cuff titles!
Walter is a player and I hope he gets the stuff! He will step up and pay and knows what he is looking at!
The lady will be a pain as she is getting alot of attention and lots of advice from the locals!
But I wanted to tell collectors that so much of this black gold is still out there!
Its the stuff many of us dream of! So many of the big boys are planning auctions and such that they don't bother with the little shows and put time into them!
Now I could have snapped a few pics but didn't as I am old school in that you don't do that while someone is at a table!
But you can believe others are like vultures and will get in on your action!
