Vern,
The C96 modification that you show in the 7th photograph is typically a police modification. Here is an example of one that has the red 9 grips and is property marked to both the Railway Police and subsequently to the Schutzpolizei.

Good information! Thanks! Info I have is that the 1920 Reworks were guns modified to meet the restrictions of the Treaty of Versailles. Barrels were to be shortened to be 4" (or just under) and converted to 7.63 if in a different caliber (9mm calibers were banned). With the shortened barrels, the adjustable sights were replaced with fixed sights. However, many examples just has the barrel shortened. The only common trait for a 1920 rework is to have "1920" stamped somewhere on the gun The "1920" date refers to the gun being modified to meet the treaty restrictions, not the date the modifications were done. I enhanced the Gallery photo so the date is easier to see.

Hello, Probably a typo, as the Large Ring Hammer C96's are closer to 20,000 manufactured. Definitely NOT 200,000.
