Good eyes there Odal!!
More than likely they are! Many were made from buttons. Evidence in the Assmann catalog [I think shown earlier here in this topic] and in others.. Examples like the RAD, Heer, Luft, these KM and SS cufflinks were made from buttons sometimes..

Hello members
Here is a unusual pair of NSDAP cuff links shows the Alcoso scale trademark has nice enamel with silver coating as shown
wondering if they were made by the Alcoso dagger company
Enjoy

These are really nice pair! Nothing wrong with them..

No reason why Alcoso wouldn't be making these early on [prob. pre war].

Most Nazi dagger firms probably started out making every day silverware[spoons, forks, knives, etc.] and other things.
They had many associates that would make a certain piece they didn't make or bought, lets say as example, leather from other firms for straps or had the other firms actually make the leather piece complete and send to them for use.
Pre war when items like these cufflinks were very popular Alcoso would cut the dies/make the tooling for these and maybe sent to a 'friend firm' [that specialized in] enamel and there you go a pair of links for sale to your friendly neighborhood Nazi.
*OR,,Alcoso simply made them complete...
There was a lot of co operation pre war with semi like firms..

Once the war started pieces like these were kind of frowned upon by the party and less and less were made and sold and firms like Alcoso went from making dress daggers to other things to support the war effort..

Vern, Andy, & 'other dagger guys' Do you guys know of other products these dagger firms made during wartime?,,maybe mess kits, buttons, armaments pieces?

Very nicee ones.
They look like silverd brass.
I have still seen some very similar/close ones, but not with this manufacturers mark.

hi odel/members
yes these nsdap cuff links are silvered on brass and i believe that alcoso firm made them early on then turned thier dies around for outher items like dagger parts etc. just like here in america at the time we had remington rand typeriters that firm made 45 cal pistols rock ola made juke boxes then made 30 cal carbines and there were more fims all over making what was asked of them for the war effert and now we are writing about what we found thier treasures that very few collectors have seen guess this old saying still stands we are the keepers of this historical history stay well meine friends andy militarynut

IMO I would have to humbly disagree that the marks shown on both cuff links are that of Alexander Coppel for various reasons. The marks shown look much like the mark of Robert Dyckerhoff of Pforzheim. And yes I have seen this mark before and on cuff links. Thank you.

I got to apologize,, been living out of cardboard boxes now for a little over a year. Hopefully soon something will happen.
Relates because I am helpless without my TARDYs silver hallmark book! grin [packed somewhere].
And,,usually whatever Tardy does not have the silver forums do! [all my passwords gone] so,,,

*Great work Mikee!! I agree: Robert Dyckerhoff of Pforzheim makes much more sense.

Here's the reverse of a piece of jewelry they made. There's your mark Andy! Thanks again Mikee!

Thanks much, Far from knowledgeable, but a true fanatic when it comes to marks so I recognized that mark right away. Just remember that Robert Dyckerhoff isn't the only one that used the scales mark. I wish we had a thread for all the unknown marks that members have posted over the years. I would love to view them!

Hap,,,on my laptop they look like they have a chance... On a full size screen I see what could be a dot under eagles neck,,,,and,, now see dots [maybe] on right one [decorative edge]..Actually see a dot on both on the side designs,,but think they are part of the design..
IF someone really wanted them,,,and there was a good return privilege, would be worth to see them in hand..

Very few 'good' rings, and cufflinks out there. With these bad ******** photos all the time sometimes a in hand is the only way...

And,,I don't understand... These sellers are moving a lot of items and /or expensive items and they can't buy a decent camera and practice a bit for the adverts!

I bet there is reason why they "can't afford" good camera smile Even modern cell phone camera can get decent macro picture...

I don't know Hap,,I'd put my 5 years old Nikon up against any new cell phone!
Even better though than those 2,,,are the USB digital photographic microscopes! They plug into USB ports and boom your taking shots inside of hallmarks laugh ,now days you can get a decent one for under $20 !!!

Byz. , yeah a few good pieces at the MAX. IF I remember right the links were good, but the box was French.. Possible?, maybe!

Those are really very nice....I can imagine it's the set for a party bigwig for special occasions, like a gauleiter or something? Do you think it's early, like late 20s early 30s ? (It looks a little Art Deco on the sides of the links)...?
