I agree, probably initials. Nice group..
A classic old WW2 US ring.. There are many people that believe rings wear as much on the inside as outside.
I've never seen that. The outsides clearly wear more as seen on this US ring!

Look Gaspare, I have another Polish ring with white and red background. I think that this is the same maker. Eagles are similar and in both rings riveted. Even background material looks the same. Unfortunetly markings on this ring are also invisible.

They prob are not a 'home made' rings. Probably offered for retail sale at some point..

the red/white [?],,maybe Bakelite? opaque glass? Perspex? early plastic?

The end of the week and new toys at home. As usually Polish patriotic ring no markings but really nice (guess I'm falling in love with this kind of rings). Number two as odal says "Achsen" ring world war one. And number three trench made WW 1 ring dated 1914 - 1917 - wonder what this four stripes mean ? Enjoy...

The 4 stripe one reminded me of this a little, but no idea what it could mean, either one. Maybe an army rank on the 4 stripe one?

I remember the other one you posted G, and that's a cool pattern...it's like a polish variant of the HR in its looks IMO! And Gaspare is dead on right with the other one, bet it was stunning in its heyday... It reminds me a bit of the gold signet initials ring, was it GH? I don't recall, but it was a gorgeous ring, for sure! outstanding!

Interesting, east side up...and the geographic detail is impressive. Right down to the Palm tree...im pretty sure they grow there, maybe not indigenously, but at the resorts and such, yes? Here's a sad thought...returning soldiers and people in conflict or even just traveling probably won't be making rings to memorialize their adventures anymore... A selfie, a facebook post, or a tweet (under 140 characters!) will be it. Time to bring "leather" and "crafts" back into the high school. Actually, we had an elective called "macrame." (I couldn't figure out what else they made besides owls with beads for eyes, so I opted for auto shop...(also gone!! Lift a glass please to mr. Arthur Fonzarelli, TOTY.) if anyone gets the reference, let me know...God bless, guys!

Yesterday Santa was great. New rings arrived. First one is an old dug found ring with mermaid theme. I have made a little research and (except being Warsaw symbol) mermaid was a symbol of 2nd Corps of Polish army on the West durring WW2. Here is some info about 2nd Corps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/II_Corps_(Poland)

The only markings I have found it is ME on the band.

The secound ring is connected with Polish army too. It is Warsaw Military Area ring awarded by the command to an officer. It is dated 1988. Made of silver 925. Heavy one with gold front. I tryed to get it for a really long time.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas time.

Very very nice! Back in the late 90s I've seen that Warsaw ring in a shop in Old Town!, was a nice condition and wish I bought it!

Members, remember the WOW rings band.. In the late 90s some SS rune rings came out of Poland with the exact band!
The WOW ring made [or 'Assayed' at least] in Warsaw..

sorry Ric, don't mean to make it mysterious or anything. I just don't want to completely blanket everything with that exact band.
There were fake SS runic rings with the exact band. Some had black enamel, some didn't and were in a unfinished state. They have some years on them now and are probably in very 'passable' condition.....

* back on page 1 Gottleib posted his soviet ring.. Here's mine,,I've had this a very long time, it survived 2 floods so it really wants to stay with me! grin

Small problem is so far no one has been able to provide info IF it is a real production , made for retail ring. Or some fantasy design.[?] It has been advertised in Surplus, Reproduction, Fantasy regalia catalogs, and the soviet emblem isn't exactly correct... Anyone with any information please feel free to add here..,thanks!

This interesting ring arrived today. IMO this ia a self made ring in memory of staying in LEMBERG (Lwow) Hungarian army in 1942 and 1943. I have found some interesting period picture but I can not find any information which formation this might be. Enjoy.
