I think it's okay. As said, a better and closer picture of the inscription would help. The trademark is authentic and the dagger itself looks the same, as well as I can tell.

A lot of blade meat taken off for that retip. How-a-bout a re-blued scabbard? Was that disclosed to you? Here's what it looked like before. There are a few other things but I'll leave that for the other guys here.

The blade tip is not unusual. Some blade originally had a "needle" tip, which was easily snapped off if the tip was forced against something like a table top. Some appear to have come from the factory like you see here. A lot depended on how the grinder finished the blade. The important thing is the length of the blade. It should meet expected standards. From what I can see, the blade does not appear to be "tipped" (resharpened after being broken off). As to the eagle wing, I really can't make it out to see that one is higher. Not all eagles were set into the grip nice and easily, perfectly "square. It is not at all unusual to see an eagle set slightly off-center or canted a bit with one wing higher than the other. That is likely the case here. This is such a rare, desirable dagger, I doubt if either of your concerns would affect the value or desirability to a collector.

That's 216mm. The blade should be 220mm.
Did you read Serge's post on the previous page?
Luca, look elsewhere would be my strong recommendation

Serge, where was this dagger before winding up at Little John's? Thanks. Grumpy, Sorry, can't help there. However, one has to expect the worst with a dagger like this in auction. I just happen to know that it's 'humped-up'. Who did it, doesn't matter (it was not me).

I guess the new owner found out and now it's back to the same auction. Beware guys.
Lot 1466 S S dagger with full Rohm signature and markings by Gottlieb of Solingen with their makers mark.
>>S S dagger with full Rohm signature and markings by Gottlieb of Solingen with their makers mark. The blade is in good condition with just light normal aging. The scabbard shows most of the original finish with just some minor scratches and a couple of small dents. The grip shows a couple of minor marks, normal aging and the condition is overall very good with a couple of small chips. Authentic S S daggers with signatures not ground are increasingly rare. Est.: $7000-$14,000<<
