I am no expert on buckles, but have several SS buckles. I'm sorry to say this one appears to be a reproduction of the earlier nickel-silver examples. I won't go into the reasons for my opinion, but it is based on some observable aspects of this buckle. I could be wrong, but, if offered for sale, I would not buy this buckle. Sorry for any disappointment.

Hans , you may want to take a look at the archives that JohnT. has kept on SS buckles at " Germanwarbooty " , it includes many of the early Overhoff ones >> SS Buckle Archives

Apart from the crude stamping of the logo , and manufacture of the catch / bridge , please notice the POSITION of it ( picture taken from files mentioned above ) ..
