Hello,
I had these pictures sent to me and wanted to know about authenticity. The reason for my request is the shape of the top wings on the top eagle. I saw the superb examples that John Z. and Pat posted however the wings on this one aren't the same. I know there are two versions of these goblets, the early ones made of 835 silver and the later ones which were silver plated "Alpaka" however they both look to be produced by the same dies. I didn't think there was a different variation of the second alpaka produced goblet. Here are some pictures. If this is indeed a reproduction it is by far better than the old reproductions I'm use to seeing which were way out of proportion and the eagles and cross were soldered on instead of embossed.

Thanks
Rich

Seems all original to me.

Pat,
I thought the same thing at first glance. Open two windows, look at my fifth picture down, then your second picture down and go back and forth between them. The stop sign shaped back ground behind the eagles, on my picture doesn't look as tall as yours. The upper eagle, as you look at it, the left wing appears to be swept up higher and the leading edge of the same wing looks different. That wing tip also looks to be higher than the "stop sign" shaped shadow box, on yours its lower. Also, as you look at it, upper birds right wing, from the wing tip there is a gap between the third and forth feather. Lower birds left wing, as you look at it, there is a gap between the second and third feather that are not on the original ones I've seen. Pat, yours and John Z's, and all the others I've seen and found on the net appear to look the same, but this one looks different to me. This is obviously just my observation and I'm not interested in this piece for these reasons but I'm curious, does anyone else see what I'm seeing?

Thanks
Rich
