I know a little, first the beads are a mix of trade beads and Indian made so these are put together from single finds. The effigy stone I think is from further south from the mound builder culture and the points appear to be a big mixture some probably found in the area some from the south. Trouble is when you pick something up and do not record it then it is was it is a point with no history

Paul, you seem to be into every thing. the beads do look correct on the stone colored ones (not sure on the "red" ones. yes these a common ! in Illinois, southern part of the state around Marshal county. very common to find ,IF you know where to look. right now would be great , with the harvest gone out of the fields. my uncle lives down there & has (had ?) coffee cans full of these. I have some too. found in a small river by his house. up stream is where they lived. ax head looks similar to one he has. not sure on the points , but so far ,seems good. jeff

Well , that bites !!! nice looking group. If you ever go to the city of marshal , marshal county, Ill. ; just ask .... any one there can point you in the direction of the farm area, ect. to find the real thing. when the crops are harvested ,Would be best ,& the farmer does not mind at all. He'll tell you that. jeff

the newly made "points" are still worth respectable money, check out eBay, theres an exhausting amount of "completed" point auctions and sales there. I've got about 50 points in my collection, about 18 are authentic. My wife has 55 acres in Humphries. County, TN, some very nice points have been found on her land. Good Luck with your new interest.
