Hi guys I have acquired a cased mint and un upgradeable Wurttemburg officer's pickelhaube with field cover. The helmet rates a 9.75 out of ten. It has never been worn and was stored in the case with cover on since 1951. The person from whom I purchased acquired it in Paris in 1951. The helmet has never been displayed..totally untouched..it has ZERO wear...no cracks to leather shell.bright and shiney..never polished...stone mint interior even has makers label inside...shield has 100% gilting...helmet never cleaned no polished Korkades have no cracking or flaking...The case is complete and damges free with all straps...this helmet is awesome....does anyone have an idea of what kind of price a truly mint and unworn Wurttemburg Pikelhaube woukld command? Thanks and regards, Ryan

Need pictures as there are many differant variations, units etc. Is the hardware silver, or brass?

Pictures will for sure help.

Prices depends on all the above, but a rule of thumb on Wurtt. Officer helmets would be in the $1500 and up range, again depends on what it is.

Cover same thing, if it is common officer cover $200 range, if it is marked to unit etc. it goes up from there. Officer covers are a lot more common then enlisted as enlisted was used more in the field and lost or damaged

Cases are not as rare as everyone thinks they are, however, if it is named to the soldier and or unit it adds a lot.

unmarked case in great condition is $200 range, marked it goes up from there.

Now as in anything, condition is everything, and mint will sure add to the prices above.

Sounds interesting, would love to see pictures

All the best

So here is what he has IMO.

A very nice Wurttemburg NCO helmet for Infantry.

First not an officer, even thow it has many officer parts which is common for NCO, the lack of stars holding on the spike base, for sure make this not an officer helmet.

Now it has flat chinscales with round rosettes holding on the chinstrap and kokarden making this infantry( the scales would be curved and have oval rosettes if it was a Dragoon)

Awes Marke is the maker, and they are known for being one of the top makers, so this is why we see the high quality, and from the photo's, this helmet appears to be Vulcan fiber in construction, not leather, which is also an option with this maker and accounts for the awesome condition, vulcan fiber helmets handle the years better then leather did.

Front plate on this helmet is steller, and shows most of original frosting(do not ever clean this) Removing the frosting will decrease the value a lot.

includes the cover(uberzug) and the original case(koffer)

The numbers on the bottom of the case are most likely some kind of Museum inventory number, not unit numbers.

This is a very, very nice helmet in top condition, congrats on the find!
