Some DJ leaders shoulder boards, much stiffer in construction than the HJ style of straps.

Just a few updates. Here's more or less an overview of many of my straps. Picture quality is not the best, hard to fit them all in.

HJ Flakhelfer. This set appears to have grey piping, but it's just really dirty. Close inspection reveals the correct color where the piping meets the strap base.

Here's an interesting set. Bann 335 Schwienfurt. It's sort of a timeline for the changes in HJ shoulder straps from the Unterbann system through the final post 1938 pattern.

This is the cuff title used at the Political School at Anhalt (a youth school for party official's sons located at Ballenstedt) which became an NPEA School in the early 1930s.
Not much is known as whether it was an NPEA School at the same time or was converted a short time later as the cufftitle was worn in the first years when it became an NPEA School.
I have a photograph album from the Anhalt School during this period and almost all of the teachers remained for the NPEA and Rust was an inspector during the period and I have photos of him at the school prior to the issue of the NPEA Dagger but they show an HJ Knife with the early Pack configuration of the larger crossguard as seen in a couple of photos of the HJ Leaders of the period.

Oberbannfuhrer in gold celleon to signify an Oberbannfuhrer serving as a Gebietsfuhrer. Normally Oberbannfuhrer straps are in silver unless serving in this special capacity.

Frank, nice set.

I do not recall seeing a retaining strip to keep the tounge in place before. Was this common or would this have been a wearer adaptation? Same with the leather, owner adapted?

Two varities of post 1938 straps were made, one style in slip on with the tounge and one style in sew on without. The early versions with the tounge are modified,I've only encountered sew in variety on the pre 1938 HJ straps. Same with the leather Gebeitstab shown.

You've been doing pretty well on pickups also Paul. The Feldschar set was expensive but hard to find.
