This dagger was recently bought from one of the members here on GD.com.

In my opinion good purchase for a reasonalble price.

According to my knowledge it is a textbook example.

Correct markings inside and outsiede of the crossguards, correct motto ething, correct handle with inserts.

I find big Eick logo rather rare (maybe I'm wrong - if so please correct me).

After closer inspection of the blade I can see crossgraining.

Anyway all opinoions are welcome. By the way I have changed scabbard because I owned originally blackened one and the one that comes with the dagger was freshly blackened :-). I think that now dagger fits much better than before...

Ha...this is a small world. I have purchased the original scabbard as a stand alone a while ago from Gotlieb and today the dagger with new scabbard went into my possesion:)

BTW. Really nice piece Gottlieb

So maybe this was destiny this dagger should never part with its original scabbard:)

Its hard to say how many daggers were messed with over the years, but this is a great combination Gottlieb,, looks nice.
I have an early SA I bought 30 years ago, that (HAD) a late model scabbard and black RZM/5 hanger. I hung onto it until the right opportunity came along,, and by chance 2 years ago Tom Wittmann had an early scabbard with a hanger and belt loop on his work bench, when I was there. I couldnt believe it!! But I grabbed it up by trade and Im glad I did. To me my SA is a complete time period dagger. Larry

GREAT!
I can't even remember just how many scabbards/cross guards/screws that I changed out/switched over the years. Now, that was back in the mid 1960's before there were any references at all, even pre-Atwood!
