Damn it, sorry guys.
I also wanted to mention DD.
Because I agree with him completely.
We hear around here that sometimes bull**** walks all the way to Corpus Christi.
Something about needing a climate change because its so dry and it needs plenty of moisture so it can be wet and soft nicely for better slinging.

This thread should be locked/closed or whatever before more derogatory comments are flung. Kris if you are upset with what Donnie has said perhaps it would be better to email him or PM him as opposed to violating the code of conduct and lowering yourself to a different level. Donnie I stood by your situation and what happened to you as opposed to standing up for you. It was not a matter of personalities in so far as I was concerned. What happened wasn't right IMO. Having said this I have received many PMs about whether you own the daggers and recently that another collector lied about selling them to you to cover for you. I don't give a damn. I could care less. Life is too important and short. I think nothing less of you for whether you lied or not. I supported you in private email and have not changed my view because it is a broader issue here.I don't care that you haven't replied to me because there are more important things in your life and you don't know me from Harry. I work in a maximum security prison with guys that rape and murder kids. That disember their victims. I have seen a lot over 18 years. This is a German Dagger forum for God's sake. The one thing that I have learnt from this entire thing is that some of you guys have to get your priorities straight. cheers, Ryan S

I have often wondered if some of these comments would be made if you had to send them to the party via eMail directly. Also, I know that many would not be said in person. I know this from direct experience.

Krissy, I'm not the one crying and moaning little *****. Seems to me like you and your buddies are.
You sure are a big man with a big mouth when its not up close and personal.

Ryan, I did respond. Sorry you didn't receive it.
But you see when I do post more explanation on this their are always toads like cartoon boy who want to show their ass. And he is doing an excellent job. I don't think he gets enough attention.

Hey Donnie! Why are you still talking, I thought you were leaving?.

There are 2 principles here, the first was the initial attack which was in my opinion out of line, but an apology was made. But not before a lot of people got into it over this hand grenade that was tossed into the forum.

The second is the statement that was made in regards to clearing this up, only to get a post that did nothing but give the the resignation of yourself as the original poster of these daggers.

So lets be clear! the original post was not titled "Donnies stomach" or "My surgery" yada, yada. It was titled "Feast you eyes on these" and displayed some amazeing daggers.

After all the hoopla and e-mails and such, I am of opinion that since so many people went to bat for Donnie, that he should step up.

But I guess he does not see it that way and resigns, but keeps talking and this morning I see a post that does nothing but ask for sympathy, why?.

You clearly stated you were going to address the issue on Sunday and everyone waited only to get a resignation and an acceptance of an apology that was in regard to the way you were treated.

So now, you stated you would address it and you did not and then you stated you were going to resign which I guess you have not done either, so my question is, do you do anything you say you are going to do?.

So Donnie? what exactly are you about? do you think people are stupid?.

You owe the community and the people who backed you an answer, and your answer was that you were not going to give one and that you were going to resign.

Dont think your going to come in here and throw medical issues over your indiscretions for sympathy and have everyone forget you did not carry through.

You need to do 1 of 2 things, either post the daggers or an explanation or do what you say your going to do and shut your mouth and leave.

And Mr. Weinand, I am sure you know that I am quite capable of saying what I mean in person as well as a keyboard.

Donnie, you need to step up or step out.

K

Kris, the thing is every time I make a post you turn it around to suit yourself. So the only thing left to do is to shut you up. Coop has said the ball is in my court so I guess I will have to slamdunk it back. I tried to leave on a civil note but I will be damned if I allow you or anyone else to think you chased me off with "my tail between my legs." You want me to step up to the plate well by god that is what you are going to get. Sympathy my ass, never needed it or never wanted it.
Now be a good boy and have a nice day. I have made arrangements for better photos on a current newspaper and just as soon as I get this done I will post them just for you.

Gotta go to work now so have fun and be careful at the playground. Big Grin

The truth reaches the light of day! Donnie you must be a good guy in person for another guy to do this for you... so you do not own them but you know someone who does great! at least there is a lucky guy out there and if he lets you take detailed pictures for all the world to see perfect!!

As I said before lets see the rare beuaty of the blades in quesion and we can all bask in the glow - because in the end Ryan is correct in saying life is too short...

When you make the decision to support someone, a friend, aquaitance or stranger you do so without the imposition of conditions. My support of Donnie, whom I have never met or even talked to was as a result of something which I viewed as unfair. I didn't ask Donnie to qualify my support by proving me right. It was not a question of right or wrong, lies or truth. It was rather a matter of fairness. Again I could care less whether the stuff belongs to him or not, or whether he was telling thwe truth or lying. To those of you who feel that you have egg on your face now it is a matter between you and Donnie in so far as he wants to entertain you. The real picture for me was whether anyone has the right to pass judgement selectively on another member of this forum and impose ad hoc conditions. So far I have read nothing that would change my opinion on the matter and I have yet to see a change in the codes of conduct. cheers, Ryan Confused

Kris, put your keyboard to work and check out Tom Wittman's site and read his banter statement.

It pretty much says it all for me and it should to all TR collectors.

Vetter,

First time I read Tom Wittman's banter - very interesting, and also amusing. I didn't know he had such a sense of humor. He's right too - Moorestown is a fine town. The story about his health was great. I also like his thoughts on collecting and on getting opinions about things on-line.

Is there a link on his website to the pictures of your dagger? I couldn't find it.

Thanks.

DOT COM SITES

Speaking of talking to each other, a lot of you are members of the Dagger Dot Com and other sites. It is a chance to instantly communicate with others and this is definitely a good thing. The only thing I do not like about these sites is the unfairness that is built into the system. I see collectors put pictures of stuff they want to buy on the site and then proceed to ask opinions of collectors throughout the world. This, in itself, is surely innocent enough and probably is meant with the best of intentions. It could indeed even be a worthy pursuit or even an attempt to show others what a neat thing you are buying. But, opinions should only be allowed if everyone out there expressing an opinion is indeed an expert on the subject and qualified to render a such a statement. It does not seem right to me when people who don't really know anything about the subject - who use phony names and handles - jump in and render negative comments. Since the collecting community tends to be, in general, a jumpy, suspicious lot, the negativity expressed by one person is usually enough to discourage a potential buyer. In my life experience, it is rare to find two or three people who will 100% agree on anything, let alone hundreds or even thousands of people around the world! While it is true some dealers do need negative exposure if they have a reputation for selling non-authentic things, but on the other hand, I do not think it is fair to subject the merchandise of a recognized, qualified, multi-years-of-experience dealer with the opinions of someone who has been collecting for two weeks, or someone who may have an axe-to-grind against the dealer. By rights, since the dealer has unconditionally guaranteed the authenticity of his product, if there is a doubt, the item should be first purchased, and then submitted for appraisal to two or three other qualified dealers. The selling dealer should also be informed of the pending process thus giving him the right to refuse the sale if he does not agree with it. (A dealer intentionally selling bad stuff will not agree to this giving the buyer his out.) I am not trying to discourage the Dot. com sites, but I think there is another way that is fairer.

Are you referring to this?

This seems to address many issues, none of it touches on pretending to own daggers one does not own.

If that is what your referring to?

The only other thing I can think of is an axe to grind, and I have no axe with Tom Wittmann, nor do I comment on his items unless I am very certain it is bad.

And as I have stated before, a guarantee is very nice, but it does not mean a dealer can fall back and get lazy assumeing no one will check the item. And a member board to inspect items is no good as all the members flock together.

Opinion.

Kris: You are wayheyheyhey too uptight and tensed up. You gotta take it more eeeeeasy and smell the roses (or watever else grows on yer winder sill) here and there. Take everything in stride and cut a little more slack. And then remember the old saying from a Chinese fortune cookie: 'Thems that play grabazs gits aszgrabbed'. Thats just one example of a bucket full of wisdom you can find when adopting a more positive, not to mention tolerant, outlook on life. But if you ever get angry, and boilin' mad and all pizsed off about the hand that fate has dealt you remember the words of Thomas Tallis (ca.1450):
Why fumeth in sight? The righteous spite in fury raging stout.
For a decent pilgrim like yourself that orta be as enlightening as a good kick in the butt from a punter of a professional football team. Hi diddle dee hoh. Wink

If you had just done what I had recommended on page two of this thread, that would have ended it. And you would have been victorious...

I think Donnie should have made a video of himself swearing an oath of honesty with one hand on the bible in front of a Texas Supreme Court justice and in the presence of an expert in the know of German daggers. This video should have been transported by armored car to Dave Hohaus who should have stated under oath in front of honorable witnesses that he got the video from Donnie. Then all thems that don't believe Donnie should have been viewing this video on closed circuit TV and swear that the guy in the video was Donnie with his daggers. We could add a few more safeguards to make sure that everything is on the up and up, probably engaging the assistance of Homeland Security if need be. All players will have to be screened against a list of all them registered sex offenders that transported a carton of Limburger cheese across county lines for immoral purposes. The botton line is that we wanna make sure that Donnie is who he is and when he said it. Wink

Gunther, in hindsight maybe your right. But at the time just as now I do not have anything to prove. The proof was established when I posted them. I felt current time and date would not repair damage done.

Ryan, I respect your opinion on this and can't argue the same thing we both agree on but honor is on the line here.
Kris L, you disappoint me, the point went over your head. I thought you were sharper than that.
Pretending to own something was never a factor.
During this post someone said the NSKK was a known fake and if it came from Tom Wittman he had some explaining to do. I don't remember or care who said it but what gall to make such a statement about something they know nothing about.
To my knowledge and backed up by fellow collectors Tom Wittman does not knowingly or willingly sell reproductions.
It wasn't just my integrity called to question but his as well.
Lower your head and read it again.
This site is a past time for like minded collectors who share a common interest.

It is not a court room, a church, political debate site or an exhaust to vent.

V,

I had no idea what it meant to be honest or why it was attached to this post.

I agree with Wittman in respect to armchair experts but not his solution.

Best,

Manfred, only you could figure out that I am really a limburger cheese fairy.
I fly into peoples bedrooms at night while they are sleeping and smear a little bit of limburger under their nose.
When they wake up and from that moment on no matter where they go or what they do to them the whole world stinks. Cool
