This thing needs to die and I for one am all for it. I could have taken more photos of the daggers on a current newspaper or whatever method of proof required. I could have taken a photo of them hanging out of the crack of my ass but it would have not mattered in my opinion. Plus I don't jump through hoops for anyone. Anyone who wishes to corrospond with me via email I would be happy to do that.
Now its time to bury this entire thing so the site can continue on to more positive things.

Donnie, I hope you reconsider. The choice is, of course, all yours, but wouldn't it be more prudent to confront your aggressors, hash it out, and let bygones be as such?

Remember, this is a forum with many members, most of which have varied opinions about almost everything.
Some will befriend you, some will diss you, but as a group bonded together by a common thread, differences arise, but we are all still a group, and that is to be expected.

As one of your most vocal supporters on this topic, I for one am let down by such a descision, but, as I said, you are grown. Do as you wish.

I'm for Donnie's suggestion and let it die.
Confrontation with others will serve no good purpose, except getting people mad and embarrassed.
Let us just flip the page and go on with the things we like best......that is collecting edged weapons.
We all learned something positive from this unfortunate incident and to me, Donnie and JR are both top notch individuals that needs not to go any further with this saga.
That's all I had to say folks.

I for one have no problems with anything I posted with the information at hand. I am certain not all is as it seems no mater what is posted or debated...

I don't see what the big mystery is. Apparently he was investigated by all the junior Woodwards & Bernsteins out there - dealers were contacted who said they sold them to him - and his story is true without any pictures. "OK - we've investigated you & we believe your daggers may be real - but please don't waste our time unless you have real good pictures..." Now he is the loser unless he posts? Maybe he should post his address - when they are stolen, the police report will be another piece of evidence. Even if it turned out he didn't have them, the same priciples would apply to what happened here - he didn't have to prove ownership - this is not a legal proceding - though maybe this is a star chamber.

Thid thread reminds me of starting out on a nice drive and suddenly ending up in a sinkhole. When I first saw the pictures of these daggers I was anticipating an interesting topic about some extrodinary hardware which I thought was a refreshing change from the usual same old army or LW dagger or some beater SS peddled on ebay. Now all we can do is lament what could have been. We've done such a good job screwing it up we are still on the bottom of the sinkhole and can't seem to get out.

LAMENT - A song or poem expressing deep grief or mourning... the problem is what am I to mourn since I have not seen anything posted...

It was my impression that we were about to see some detailed pictures of rare pieces. And I also suspect that Donnie has a few more items we don't know about. But now we can look at the run-in-the-mill stuff again and debate if the crossguard matches the trademark of some beater army or whatever. I, personally, would like to see something less common for a change.

As a longtime friend of "vetter" or Donnie let me clue you in. These are his daggers and they are original and have been a part of his collection for some time. If you "expert" folks among the doubters continue the attacks I don't blame Donnie for chucking it. Nobody wants to be attacked by some jerk. If it is jealousy on your part get out and fine some super good quality daggers for yourself. But, be careful if you put them on this site for good honest friendly opinions! Just my two bits worth.

No offense, but with only two previous posts to Donnie being all you have contributed...your opinion carries little weight or credibility. Donnie has a LOT of old friends here, myself included. Plus, the original pics were straight out of amateur night. Tens of thousands worth of daggers...suddenly appearing after years of nothing...and no good camera or friend to take a pic for you? Nah!

All Donnie had to do was post 'em and let us all eat crow. He didn't and I also agree Kris has it right. We are weary of the story...where are the daggers? Slinkin' away ain't what most collectors here do best. A lot of collectors here have items that blow those daggers away, so jealousy does not come into the equation.

This is all history and I think it should be killed and locked. Too many mixed emotions going to no good end.

Well, excuse the hell out of me. It sure didn't take long for the "****" to show back up! You can believe Donnie or not that's your loss and I don't give a tinkers damn! Donnie and I have been good friends for 30+ years and I have seen his excellant collection many times. Donnie is one of the square shooters in this hobby.

I fail to see where "good sport" was a part of this. He was mistreated here and did not deserve it. I am finished in my efforts to assist in this. You folks can think what you want to But Donnie did not have to prove anything to anybody here.

All those with common sense can see the truth by reading old posts and the current ones - why does GDC allow this to continue when the cat is out of the bag?

After being one of the guys that showed a lot of support for Donnie in this fiasco, I for one am pretty d*mn let down.
Not for not seeing more pictures of these daggers, I could care less - I'm a gun guy, but for watching this member slink away with his tail between his legs without hardly so much as a wimper after I, a fairly new guy here, took a chance and defended him against some of the icons of this site.
For that, JR, Kingtiger, John, and the rest of you, I apologize.

I first had my doubts about those rumors but Donnie's silence didn't help his case, though most people ( including myself ) couldn't care less if whether or not he had those daggers.

Yea....it's kinda hard to believe there are two different members with names like Von Kuntenkisser and Dick Pumphrey...that are "long time friends". I think someone has had their fun with us all.

Let me clue you guys in on something. I will type it real slow so maybe you can understand it. I am still recovering from major surgery where I had to have 80 % of my stomach removed and I am under strict advice from the Dr. not to get stressed or ****ed off in general. People closest to me including my personal Dr. think I created this problem myself because of my aggressive personality and violent temper. I know you guys don't give a damn about that but I do. As the surgeon said, I don't have enough stomach left for another ulcer.

So I am trying real hard to adopt a new lifestyle to change the way I was but you guys are testing the limits of my will power and restraint. You are not worth my health, simple as that. I don't run away with my tail between my legs for anyone and have all the scars to prove it. Don't you boys know that trash talking me on the internet is the work of fools.
I know for a fact if you ever met me you damn sure wouldn't do it face to face.

But please, continue on with your garbage talk. It only serves to belittle yourselves so keep up the good work.
This entire thing started because I posted some rare daggers in an attempt to redirect attention back to the hobby and away from the political bull**** that members were fighting about. A lot of good that did because it didn't take long for the ones that know everything to start tearing that down and wanted proof.
Now, even when the proof was confirmed from the collector I got them from you still did not believe it and kept up your smear campaign against me. Some of you even came across like you demanded to know who this unknown collector is. Like you expect me to betray a trust and break my word to someone who did not want his name plastered on the internet. Well, that ain't gonna happen. Not for you or anyone.

You go out of your way to dig up my old post and try to use those to justify what you think you know. I have already admitted that when I first joined I came across as a novice new collector and asked stupid questions and I explained why I did that. A lot of you think I was wrong for doing that but I didn't at the time. About the reproductions, yep I bought some back then and still do at times if they are of high quality and appeal to me. I look at them as "home decor" because I collect this stuff because I like it and like to surround myself with it with some of the more common stuff. If a tornado blows the house away, a fire consumes it or some scumbag gets past my security systems I won't be out that much. Besides, the good stuff is safely locked away.

Now why didn't I post those daggers earlier. That is because I know the internet is a breeding ground for every form of pond scum there is. So why advertise what you have. When I did I get a bunch of **** from members as it was anyway.
I never knew when I joined this site I had to list my level of paranoia and personality ticks plus a detailed history of my collection and how I obtained it all.
I figured its nobodys business when it went from money is no object to where the object was to make it from payday to payday. But that didn't mean I would sell my retirement or my kids inheritance. Lean times always pass but some collectables can never be replaced.

Some of you feel let down and have turned against me for my decision to leave. My leaving is not so much this bull**** but also I am just tired of all of the backbiting and infighting.
This used to be a decent site but now it has turned into a kangaroo court run by the more Himmler minded members. I just collect this Nazi stuff I don't practice its politics like some of you do when you stand me up before the firing squad because of what you think you know.

The reason I did not post any more pictures is because I was already convicted before all of the facts were known. Even when they were known you still haven't let up on it or me.
It appears the GDC code of conduct is only for the lesser few because you have insulted me in every shape form and fashion and admin continues to allow it. Insult one of the big name dealers or one of the favorite faired haired collectors of the group and your ass is out of here.

If the whole thing would have been handled differently by a private email to me with all of the questions and kept off of the forum to attract all of the carnivores to try to eat me alive I would have been more to cooperate and remain a member.

Kris L calls me a loser, this is the same Kris L that sent me friendly emails and when the decision I made was not the one he wanted he made a complete 360 and started slamming me like the rest. That in my book is a loser and not someone I would trust to share a foxhole with.
I said more than once how I appreciated the ones that supported me and I meant it.
But because of the health reasons I stated above I needed to stay calm over all of this.
And it doesn't matter to me now if you believe or care about that at all.
I wasn't the one who started all of this ****, others took it to the level of mud for whatever their reasons were. But you all need a scapegoat so you chose me because I did not jump through hoops and do as you recommended.

John Cooper thinks Dick Pumphrey and me are the same person. Another display of brain power from him.

jim m wants me to sit on the daggers point up without the scabbards. Why don't you fly your B2 here and do it yourself. You can park it in the hangar next to my two.

Kingtiger says I still have a lot of friends here. But its a known fact friends don't turn on each other.

This is all I have to say, flush it down the toilet if you want to, it doesn't matter to me.
Now you can pick any part of this post to quote me and continue on with your Donnie bashing, It won't affect my sleep at all.

But if you want to be real heros and icons of the collecting community please make arrangements to do it to me in person. That would be a lot more of fun for me.

I need to go to bed now anyway so I can get up and go to work and help build aircraft that defend our country and even people like you.

Come on now and be real men and continue to tear me and my reputation apart. This very thing is some of the reasons why many members have quit and more have limited their post. There is not a whole lot of kindness and understanding left here, only bushwhackers and those who believe what others tell them to without facts, history or proof.

By the way I wanted to also tell William W the "Von Kuntenkisser" post was a joke just to see if it got past the censors. As you can see it did.

John Cooper, I'm glad you like Austin. It is a great town with good music,good food and a lot of things to see and do.
I was in SF for a couple of days when we came back from overseas. I didn't like it much. There was too many sissyboys running loose. But the city itself was fantastic.
