Another comparison. I think the one on the right was silver plated, which is what has turned black.

It's tarnish, E. It happens to brass KM daggers as well.

mmmmm not convinced bb got the same ring excactly the same tarnish and colour but not on other brass rings  i can post a pic if you want

Maybe it's the brass in these specific rings? Impurities that cause them to go purple more so than others? Just a guess.......Here's a style not posted yet. (Credit to owner.)

I've noticed that there's some variance in this style of ring. At left is mine, the other is one sold by Kai Winkler.....Note the positions of the posts over which I've put a red dot.

*Mikee,,very nice,,that's the classic form tht started it all.. *Ringman,, the color is one, or a combo of: ,patina,,a shellac,, left over polishing compound,,old paint residue.. *BB, your still the baddest!  Thanks for showing part of your collection and other examples from your files.. *Now,,can someone PLEASE hook me up with a West Wall bracelet!!
