I would like to share some of my favorite medal bars with all of you...

Please feel free to post your favorites as well!!

I will start with my oldest.

This first one is a nice 1866-1871 bar for most likely an NCO who had no less than 47 years of service(1866 campaign medal and the 1913 Reserve long service medal date this service time period).

Next up is a nice solitary example of a Prussian pre-1918 Lifesaving medal. This version was introduced in 1833. As you can see, this medal was a plated example worn quite a bit with pride. The reverse is actually still plated. It seems like a collector reversed the medal pendant, as the head normally is worn next the chest.

Next up is a rarely seen Non combattant 1914 EK2 bar that includes:

NC EK2, Prussian War Aid Cross, Red Cross Medal, Third Class, and the Non Combattant Hindenburg Cross.

I would love to find a ribbon bar for this one!!

Here is a nice 1939 EK2 and Westwall medal bar. I was fortunate enough to find a ribbon bar for this one as well. Despite how common some of these combinations are, try finding the exact ribbon bar sometime! It took me MONTHS to find this one!!

Next up we have a medal bar for a Eastern front veteran. This bar was definately home made and I believe the construction to be completely period. I did an entire thread on it in another forum. I need to find a ribbon bar for this one!

Here are two of the three classes of the Hindenburg Cross... the Noncombattant and Combattant versions. I do not have a Mounted example of the Widow's Cross yet.

Thank you all for looking. I look forward to seeing some of your favorites.

Warm regards
PaulR
