Friend and forum member Vinnie Finelli is visiting. He has brought a box of WHW items. He is just now going thru them all. Its really amazing that most of them are mint condition. This hoard has multiples of every piece! To start here is the only item not in multiples ,,this is really a nice piece and even has a anti theft device in the lid to keep those who thought they could shake out the coins for their own cut,,kind of dangerous to do I guess!

Vinnie/G., Thanks for taking time to share this nice post. It's refreshing to see that some of us are collecting things that aren't emblazoned with the old hooked-cross, and are much more history/culturally oriented. Those little flowers are knockouts, I haven't seen them before either. If possible, do you have any closeups of those? Great stuff guys! Bill

Gaspare, Thanks for the additional photos, nice! With all those swords, daggers, warhammers and shields you could outfit a whole contingent of pygmy Visagoths... Some of the WHW oval glass units are very neat too; famous composers, statesmen and military personalities, my personal favorites are the insects and lizards and such... these ovals look superb when placed on a nice piece of colored fabric. Thanks again fellas. Bill

Now that I have a tad more time. referencing the third picture, from research it appears that there are 12 terra cotta zodiac signs to the set. I am not up on the fairy tale folk. Referencing the seventh picture, there are 8 different axes to a set. 8 different swords/daggers to a set and 7 different shields to a set. I am not aware of how many of the round (shields) with zodiac devises make up a set. Thanks for showing these ever interesting items. --dj--Joe

I can list many excuses but ,,anyway, sorry for blurry photo..Just want to put up for some reference..These pins went onto a description board..I'll post another different kind of set later also on a board.. Could it be that all of these WHW pins/items had some sort of display board once you've collected the sets??

I remember seeing a similar shield shaped card board fold out for the set of seven shields. The link is long gone unfortunatly. I would imagine these are far and few between. --dj--Joe This is me green with envy, but happy for the owner!

Vinnies still on 'tour' and hope he gets to add many more items from this wonderful hoard once he hits the main HQ. [hey, get all those glass ones out and up here]!
A big THANK YOU Vin for letting me help you go thru all these, inspect them and put up on the forum.
The kids must have had a great time with these. There were many to the set, these just a few representative pieces.., G.

Hi Joe-
I haven't found anything like the flag that you posted.
I plan on spening some time tonight to find out what Gaspare hasn't posted.
Are you going to be at the SOS?
I will be at the show.
I would be more than happy to bring part of this collection with me.
Best regards,
Vinnie III

Hi Pablo-
Thank you for the kind words.
All I did was bring the collection to G's.
He did all the hard work taking the photos.

Vinnie III, Thank you and Gaspare for showing these varied and enjoyable items. I will not be attending the SOS, it's a great show but the ride to get there is a bum buster. By the time I paid my share of the gas and room expense I'd be penniless any way. Regards, --dj--Joe

Joe,, sadly,,Vinny had to sell this gigantic lot a couple years ago. A young man and his Father bought it. When we were showing it to them they just couldn't believe the size of it,,one big plastic bin after another!
Supposedly he used it all to write a book on the subject.. Don't know if it ever happened though..

To bad Vinnie had to part with the lot. Full sets make for nice displays. The bird display board and the city gates were interesting to see.
It may have been the spark for more than one reference book. (?) Not positive though.
