I have a WW1 Mauser bayonet-matching numbers.These are 2119 and S/173K.
d
Could the second number give a clue to the manufacturer?And what is the little d?

John, AndyB, who among other things is the expert on production, can you an idea as to how many were made in 1934 (the “K” date), and “d” is the letter block (10K per block). But in the interim I can offer the information that S/173 is the identifier for Alexander Coppel G.m.b.H. in Solingen. FP

Hello, FP have all say what is about this bayonet, You have a nice early production, from Coppel and dated 1934, the serial number was 2119d, we have confirmed production to letter e, so Your piece was made probably on end of 1934. Should be proofed with Eagle/82 stamps on pommel.best regards,Andy

Many thanks for your replies and the info.It does have stamps on the pommel but they are indistinct.It also has what looks like a stickbird stamp on the flat steel under the rifle slot but it also is very hard to make out.
