In Germany these are known as Verlangerungsmesser, it literally means an extension knife, I couldn't be sure yours is actually even of German manufacture, they were made by a few European countries. In good condition they tend to fetch $350 or so, I'm not sure what that one would fetch.

Thank you very much for the information and the reply Gary
Hello Mike,
hunting knife called in France "dague a la d'Estaing".
Regards.
Frank
Thank you frank
This is all pretty interesting I appreciate the knowledge
This type of folding knife has been popular in Germany for many years. I bought one in the 1960's in Koln. It came in a shortish molded leather scabbard.
Dave
Thanks Dave i appreciate it very much
After looking online I found a few
Not one with a metal scabbard and finger hook though
Or the odd metal tool attachment looks like a gun sight or wrench of some kind
Looks like the ricasso mark says ECW
Familiar maker to anyone by any chance
I would guess this knife is English, because of the shape of the bolsters, the metal blade guard, the blade is not completely in handle when closed and the rivets / pins on the handle.
