Well I guess I have to go to another web site to get an answer. Were my pix so terrible that NO one can comment? I try to participate in some of the Forums but I guess NOT enough. I'm not knowledgeable enough to give my opinions so I listen and do not interject. I do buy a lot of items as you sellers well know. If I am wrong I do apologize. If I'm right there is no consultation. All comments welcome?Dutchman.
Dutchman, Don't get too down, I sometimes think this is kind of a CLUB. If you have a buddy, your IN, if not, well. Do not know enough about SS hangers to comment on, hang in there. Best, Ed
Dutch and Ed I agree with Dave on this one I think that members are being respectful here and do not want to cast negative opinions on what could very well be a period and authentic hanger.I truly believe that many just don't know It doesn't have any one "quality" that screams FAKE. It is not a standard vertical hanger and appears to be an early one I am not 100% certain but it looks okay from your pics. Dave is the guru when it comes to hangers, especially SS. Should Dave have an opinion good or bad I would consider it the same as an opinion on an SS honor ring from Don Boyle and on an NPEA dagger from Ron Weinnand iron clad cheers and best, Ryan
Ryan The only thing I was telling Dutch was to hang in there and wait. I am a novice on SS stuff, and explained why I did not comment. Dave did comment on my words, but gave nothing to Dutch on the hanger, as he has on other SS hangers. Just seems odd. Hang in Dutchman. Some closeup shots may be a way. I know it it not mandatory to comment. I have tried to join a few sessions, with no response,(redsled Bob, the only one. Just throwing my 2cents in, no negative was intended. Sometimes it can take a while to get in on some sights. Sorry if I offended, Ed
OK,Now we got the ball rolling. This is why I like this site! The seller told me that a similar SS Hanger is on Lakesidetrader.com. Item Number:HG-10966. It has the same numbers and same stamping on it as the one that I have. It has a Replacement upper belt.Thoughts? Thanks again Dutchman.
Hi Ed no issue I knew what you meant and agree as I said some don't comment when the item is a difficult one, often out of respect this hanger perhaps being an example where it could go either way cheers Ryan
It appears identical to the example posted on Paul's site again good enough for Paul Hogle than good enough for me I trust both his experience and opinion cheers Ryan
The last time I checked,Paul Vogel, Lakeside Trader, had an identical one for sale, except the buckle was oval-shaped. He mentions in the ad they are usually seen with square buckles, as is the one depicted here. Paul is one of the most knowledgeable and respected collector/dealers in the hobby and I would trust his expertise.
Hi Bob,Thanks for the reply. And to all who had some input and incite to my item.I'm going to install it on my SS Dagger and I'll post some pix Thanks again and Happy Fathers day to all.Dutchman.
