Even though it has US wire on the lid??? Dont get me wrong because I like it too but I receive mixed reviews on the helmet. You have the diehards that said it could never happen but if you look at the US exports for agriculture and even more poultry exports is shocking. When was this type of wire produced? If this type of wire has been in production since the 30's then there is no reason why it cant be found on some helmets.
I like it as well and ANYTHING is possible of course the US exported much and we may never know for certain unfortunately this lid pairing may never be accepted by the majority and will remain a tough sell cheers, Ryan
hi ritterkruz
my name is andy militarynut i have had several chicken wire german helmets over the past fifty years in this great hobby i would like to give you my opinion on your chicken wire m-40 helmet from what i can see the wire appears to have been on this helmet for ever also you are correct in saying that its american chicken wire we did export goods to germany and all over the world also england dealt with the germans to get supplys but however in all the chicken wired german helmets that i sold i all weays got a song n dance when sold every body has an opinion even a a.h. but all in all when you sell it you will get another opinion as to why its not right i hope you agree god bless have a great day andy militarynut
Thanks Andy and I totally agree. There is no way of knowing when it was applied to the lid and it has been on there for a long time. Mark
