Unfortunately I don't know too much about this one.
Quite a few old guard chevrons.
If anyone can id any of the officers or can add anything that would be great. Thanks
One of my favorites.
Bottom right corner after the quote, is dated right before night of the long knives.
Apparently Hitler was reviewing a labor camp on this date and looks tired and preoccupied. The surrounding officers have a look of concern on their faces also imo.
Any additional id's, info, or perspectives welcome.
Thanks
Decent rally shot.
Hitler?
It's not Groucho Marx...I believe that's der fuehrer...these are great pics, dean! I think the rally shot with der Adler is awesome
Glad you like them Byzanti and thanks.
That rally photographer knew his craft thats for sure.
Great podium eagle plus a few deutschland erwache standards top left corner.
With the limited capacity atmosphere, does anyone know the criteria to be invited to this somewhat small event? Thanks
Norwegian ss oath ceremony?
Unusual 1935 Saar card.
The signatures are a mystery to me.

A private photo of what I think to possibly be Sholtz Klink.
Excuse my ignorance on this edged weapon question, but is that the proper dagger (HJ) for a full grown man?

When enlarged details include a golden party badge, sa sport badge, edelweiss cap badges, and a few sa daggers.
Well done and realistic looking art imo.
Blood flag behind Hitler?
I recall reading this was an event held to honor the dead of Germany during WWI.
Rally
Luftwaffe ceremony?
Can anyone id the standartenfuhrer (second person next to Hitler)?
Behind Hitler appears to be Himmler, and 2 back from him to the right may be Schaub.

Clueless on this one also.
I don't recognize the marking on the fender or the where abouts.
Yes, Ribbentrop. Bloomberg on the other side, I think.
Thanks for that id Dave.
Anything I can get is great.
Here's another photo that not much is known about.
I thought a nice dagger in wear shot although not too many in attendance.
Are there any ink stamps on the back of those pics? I've got 3 TR pics which have a Russian ink stamp on the back... never found out where they came from.
Post them bad boys if you want. Maybe someone will recognize.
No russian ink stamps.
Some of the photos have paper manufacture marks or a brief notation if I'm lucky. Some are competely blank.
Once in a while I will run across a photo with a german ink stamp on the reverse but these seem to be few and far between.
Some russian and other nationality archive photographs I have seen are inked stamped and most press photo's will have this in general.JMO
Here's a couple links, (the first by Robert Noss who I think is very knowledgable on the suject) I have found helpful although not specifically regarding ink stamps:

Here are two more of that series. One shaking hands with Hunlein of the NSKK and the second with Geobles (SP?).
1st time I've seen those great photo's Dave. Thanks
Happy times in this one.
Looking for info regarding this event.
The photo does this card's beautiful blue background no justice.
Dean,
That is the Feldherrnhalle in Munich. Off the picture to the left is where the 1923 march came to an end.
Looking at the pointy helmets, coal scuttle helmets, and a complete absence of swastika flags and armbands and stiff arm salutes, I think it is WWI ceremony or a veteran's ceremony after the war.
You might be right Dave. Thanks for bringing those facts up.
Here's another Rohm shot to add.
Another FHH postcard.
A formal event at the reichskanzlei.
I think that's Keitel about 8' behind Hitler
Beat up march postcard
Another Nov. 9 march. Posted Nov. 10th.
I think the distorted edge is from album storage judging from the reverse.

Unfortunately the date on the cancellation is beyond recognition.
Stormtrooper, knights, swords, eagles, and Bararossa in the mix.
Here is a favorite:
These Alsatian dogs have been assigned to train SA men. They've done quite well, in my opinion. Note the lead dog checking for orders.
K9 photo's are very popular imo.
What's not to love when you see man's best friend tooling around in a panzer or parading on the field with pride. The loyalty and honor theme holds true with these animals.
Didn't Hitler have a beloved dog during his service in WWI?
6 photos and cards that came in a group together.
Reverse of one of the postcards read: 'Deutschlands schonste Thingstätte Heiliger Berg bei Heidelberg'.
I'm looking for more info if anyone can add ...thanks.
Here's bits & pieces I found on german wikpedia (translated)-
Heidelberger Thingstätte is one of about 40 Thing places the early days of National Socialism and was built from 1934-35.
Geographically it is the counterpart to the Heidelberger Ehrenfriedhof, of about the same time (1934) on the ants bump, a the holy mountain on the other side of the Neckar opposite ridge, was applied to fallen soldiers of World War Heidelberg.
In the 56 rows of seats, which rise 25 meters diagonally, 20,000 people found space at the opening. The semicircle of the ceremony site (the term Thingstätte had at that time already separated) was opened by Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels on 22 June 1935th On this occasion were the only time during the Hitler era, the courts fully occupied.
The Thingstätte said to have been built on an alleged Germanic cult place, which it was issued as part of the Nazi blood-and-soil mystique. The stage should be used mainly for propaganda events. In the following years, there were some ideas about Thing games such as "The Way into the kingdom," or "The Oratory of the work." But soon the Nazis lost the interest in the plant, since the broadcasting represented a more effective tool for disseminating propaganda.

Maybe way off but after no information on this event turned up I wondered if RuSHA influence, racial theory, eugenics, or the fairly new Nurnberg laws may have been a few of the topics of this 1937 hygiene exhibition.
According to wikipedia, prosecutions of some Nurnberg laws didn't begin until after the 1936 olympics due to foreign policy concerns.
The May/June 1937 date didn't seem too far off from olympics closing date.
Nice looking eagle
Silhouette card
Earlier card. Check out the sash.
nice pieces Dean..
yeah that's looks like Darre next to the Propaganda minister!
And it does look a little like Hess behind Himmler, don't think the rank is correct though..

Sorry for the delayed response.
Pictured is the back of postcard in question.
The date on the postnark looks to be 10 37 from what I can see.
Thanks for the intrest and input.
I think this photo is a rally at Tempelhof Airport May 1,1935.
My take on 3 id's from this 1935 photo..front to back...Streicher,Grimminger,Hitler.
Nurnberg eagle postcard
Streicher,Grimminger,Hitler,,,for sure!! That's a great shot!
Thanks for chimming in on the march photo Gaspare.

When the photo is enlarged the nearest cufftitles looks like Adolf Hitler (my guess anyway).

Looking for branch of service/purpose for this school.
A google search stated it was under SD-HA supervision in 1938.
There is only one ss uniform (blank rune tab) but I can't find anything more. Any help welcome. Thanks
According to my references, the school was built and used to train Trade Union officials from 1930 to 1933. In 1933, it was taken over by the SA, named Reichschule der NSDAP and used to train SA and DAF officials. In 1936, it became the Reichfuhrerschule and trained members of the SS, the SD, and the Gestapo.

This one posted 30-1-1939 with correspondence the day before.
Not sure why there's 2 dated (31/12/1939) postal cancellation markings and lines impressed without ink into the front right border.
Maybe a reject due to the lack of ink and no address.
Very impressive ! Thanks for showing. It looks like it was inside a postmarked mailed envelope.
Jerry
Hi Jerry-
Good explanation on the inkless postal markings.
You're probably right, and as simple and logical as your theory is, I never considered that.
Thank you for the excellent input.
My original thinking was these dated stamps were intentionally placed there to commemorate the event of the new year as this art is geared toward this theme.
Honor temple card.
My guess.... A ceremony where the putsch martyr's coffins (you can see 7 of the 8, see red arrows) were waiting to be placed into the monument.
I think that's Hitler leading down the front steps and Grimminger with the blood flag on the temple's side.
Another from the same event?? May be Hitler saluting his fallen comrade's resting place.
Anniversary march wearing blood orders.
Reverse of postcard appears to have been mounted in a album.
Who's on the right of Hitler?
On Hitler's real right is Goring. Notice on the far left in that picture the malignant ******** who ran the NSKK
Below are scan of those 3"X4" B&W prints you see at shows. They are really more newspaper photos on glossy paper than real photos. Detail in poor, but subject is interesting
The is Freikorps "Oberland" marching
Here is an undated on titled SA marchers. Interesting assortment of hats. And the guy in the foreground has a plaid blanket over his shoulder
Here's one taken 9 November 1934 at the Feldherrnhalle.
And a view of the famous parade

Meant on Hitler's left...My mistake.
Why the comment about NSKK leader and whats his name?
Those are fantastic photos you added Dave, Thanks.
Here's a small rally photo (Nurnberg?) that I'm trying to date also.
I think the individual with posted red arrow resembles Himmler. When enlarged you can see him and the ss officer in front carrying swords...blurred because of motion...so I can't tell if it's the 1936 model.
Dean,
The TR leaders were certainly a varied bunch. The NSKK leader is Adolf Hühnlein, a man said to be totally without humor, charm or intellect. An early member of the NSDAP, his only noted characteristic was personal loyalty to Hitler.Died in 1942. A car crash perhaps.
Your photo certainly looks like Nurnberg but I have not seen any of that march before.
Dave
I think the man to Hitlers left is Ulrich Graf, one-time personal bodyguard of Hitler.
I recognize some of the photos as coming from either 'Adolf Hitler' or 'Deutschland Erwache' photo books.
Tristan
Yes they are either 'Adolf Hitler' or 'Deutschland Erwache' photo books.
Thanks for the id's.
More in addition to the small rally photo.

Hitler with Goring (w/bloodorder),Keitel?,& Schaub.
Dean,

Thank you Dave.
Another one with the work theme and scarce imo.
I'm not sure if the blade craftsman is anyone specific.
Showing reverse in case it has anything useful?
Looks to have been postmarked in Solingen and written/posted on Hitler's birthday.
Seeking information about this postcard with symbols plus signatures on back.
All's I can come up with is 100 year milestone to a school in Passau and maybe turnfest oriented. Thanks

Funeral procession or ceremony??
Any thoughts on what this horse drawn carriage flanked by blood order holders heading to the feldherrnhalle is about.

these last 3 cards are really nice!
Nov. 9th is the failed 1923 take over!,,is that the year printed/type set on the card or hand written printed? In 1939 Nov 9th is also the Nite of Broken Glass!!
That Luftgau IV card is that showing a painting? or a tapestry?
and the last one with Grimminger is really nice!
Hi Gaspare. Glad to see you've made a recovery.
The procession to the feldherrnhalle card has typeset text and from my understanding the luft card was a tapestry in the air ministry.
Here's a nice one imo.
According to an online translation something to do with slavery, but I've also read the meaning was along the lines of never kneeling again.
The art half of a postcard.
Nov.9 ceremony march
Postcard. Not sure if this was an actual building or an artist concept.
For some reason the publishers info on this card is blackened out.
Beautiful correspondence posted during the RPT 1935.
Schaub, Schreck, Streicher in car with fuhrer and trying to id the 3 others...any help appreciated. Thanks
In need of translation.
Listed on back are the fallen martyr's names. The national colored border really sets it off imo.
Hi Dean...nice card with the car group.
Krause is behind Hitler and Bruckner behind him. I don't know who the Heer Officer is.
hey you keep pulling out these really nice cards!! That's some deep well you got!!
The 'slavery' card is some real drama!
That entrance way eagle is really something! The building engineer and Architect really had there jobs on the line trying to get that thing supported!
Thanks for the comments. The additional ID's helped out a lot Tristan.
Gaspare, I'm not exacly sure that building even existed in reality. I know exactly what you mean, the entrance does seem massive and somewhat out of perspective.
Right on...that slavery/the kneeing is over card is simple and dramatic with that swaz and deco-like look. I wonder if it pre-dated 1933.
2 small photos to add. Guess they were taken from an building's upper level on Palm Sunday 1934. Must of been something to witness.

Almost looks like a movie poster.. That's a real nice one!
Yeah Gaspare, that swaz on the patriot's arm mixing with hammer & sickle in the soviet star above the thundering clouds is set to create some real drama...the perfect storm.
This artist seemed know what was in store on the horizon.
Another pre-war card
yes another nice one..
You know, with lets say with certain Nazi regalia like tinnies and especially with something so visual like postcards you can see that the SAs importance had become less and less.. By early wartime their influence/power was greatly diminished...
you can see that the SAs importance had become less and less.. By early wartime their influence/power was greatly diminished...
I would think Hitler's will. Amazing something so powerful and key to his rise to power could be weakend so quicckly and effectively.
Night of the long knives sent a loud, clear message.
A undated photograph. Nov 9 ceremony??
Interesting Horst Wessel item!
Any info or input appreciated...(timeframe,unit,location...ect).
When enlarged the man on the left appears to have a blank collar tab and the others seem to have...feldherrnhalle?? No daggers, just sidearms.
What would be the purpose of the blank collar tab in this case?
Thanks
Sorry for the additional photo but for some reason pics seem to be very small these days (info on how to make them larger if possible with the 156 limit would be great). Posting picture closer to try to get more detail at the cost of losing some of the photo.
A glossy type photo...purpose unknown to me. Odal rune with sword cool imo.
Any help on location appreciated.
post 314 & 315..Don't know exact unit.. But they are SS for sure. Their cap devices are the early eagle and 1st pattern [early] skull..
Could the tab be a wolfs hook, or a lightning bolt?
You can always make a large scan then crop one or 2 guys and their upper half to see tabs, board , cap devices..
The Landjahr ran youth camps along similar lines to the RAD and the Odal rune/sword was their emblem.
For some great photos see:
www.jugend1918-1945.de
post 314 & 315..
You can always make a large scan then crop one or 2 guys and their upper half to see tabs, board , cap devices..
Great idea Gaspare.
I did this and it appeared to be the number 1 on the tabs and not a wolfs hook as first thought. I could swear there's one soldier (6th from left) wearing a tab with the number 2.
Any idea what unit these numbers represented and what the significance of the blank tabbed guy to the left was?
Tristan- Great info to look into. Thank you for the link and giving me a direction get going in.
Many thanks to both of you for your useful help.
1st SS-Fuss Standarten according to my references
Vern,, did they wear a 1? or Ost?
maybe they are early SS-VT Deutschland [1] ?
This early stuff is confusing
,,unless you know your very early SS tabs and nomenclature...
According to Angolia's "Cloth Insignia of the SS", the SS-Fuss Standarten wore tabs numbered from 1 to 125. SS-Oberabschnitte staff wore either blank tabs or tabs with the district name ("Ost", "Nord", etc). You can refer to the gallery "Collar/Shoulder Tabs - SS" in the GDC Reference Library located
HERE.
ok..., Also.. You can see in the big photo now there's at least one guy with a 1 cufftitle...
2 press photos in succession... '9 Nov 1935 Frankenfuhrer Streicher an der spitze des Zuges'
Any idea what award is to the right of Grimminger's blood order?
2)
He did wear a Turkish Star ( worn on right lower pocket) although this image does not look like that.
Thanks for chimming in Tristan.
I agree... the award in question looks more like a cross than a star.
1 more press photo with Hitler reviewing troops.
Again free Saar card.
Germany's misery, France representing in the background.
Haunting! "Saarland dank!" (I own one of those rings..) very nice pictures and card!
Thanks Mike
Here a feldherrnhalle postcard with notation on reverse referring to Nov.9,1935.
Ceremony moving the martyrs to the honor temple I would guess.
Close up.
Appears almost everyone is wearing the blood order except one pallbearer in front 3rd from left. In the front of him, close to the lion resembles Grimminger imo.
A small haus wachenfeld photo. Any id's would be great. Thanks
Sonnenwende type postcard.
Small photo with Ley referenced on reverse.
I'm not sure why the ss general has a band above the cufftile area.
The guy in the center looks something like Speer.
No idea what this one is about but thought it was a good shot.
This came along with the saluting photo posted above.
Fun looking group.Unknown location
10x13 framed hand done art under glass (bad photo because of it).
The reverse has a cut out in the matting with faded penciled in artist name,location,ect...
To me it also looks like Zum Turken is mentioned.
There is a french translation page attached to the back and some other writing with no idea the purpose of.
Posting the french translation as best as I could get it using google.Sure there may be some errors.
Translation from frech page:
At the foot of the mountain the Emperor Karl is seated, his forehead full of worries.
He sends an eagle to observe and waits for his return with anguish.
In the greatest desperation and misery, a fighter and savior whose intentions are very noble. His action is guided by God.
Never before has such faithfulness existed.
And the eagle spreads its quivering wings.and lands on the small house
What have you seen in the land, tell me my eagle? Does not Germany want to think again?
My Emperor, I have seen in Germany a man who wishes to realize great things.
Fly my eagle and bring strength, perseverance, courage and fidelity to the homeland, for this warrior who has done so many magnificent great things. Let him see again the splendor of Germany.
And the crossed flag salutes the valley range
Heil Hitler! Who gives us freedom
Close up of re writing from faded out original to it's left (not pictured).

Another march photo
Any ideas on what exactly this was for? Maybe a new year greeting?? I thought it had an occult look.
I can't read the fancy lettering and all I can make out is the months of the year and 1939.
Also has Alfred Crossmann's signature impressed in with no ink bottom right corner.
Thanks
really good to see, some nice shots there.
. That 'poem'? maybe a original piece. Also looks like someone interested in botanicals[?]
Don't think I've ever seen a GesGesh on a paper piece!
Yeah that ges gesh on a card was a 1st here too Gaspare.
Another ss photo. Wonder why only one has the black band over the armband.

The poem with the eyeball- "who wants to understand everything? When the snow melts, you will find it". (I think..) then it says "time will tell".. the last bit is sütterlin, can't make it out... "have a weird 1939!" (Just kidding about the last bit.. but it's very very cool..)
Yeah Mike whatever the meaning of the hypnotic eye,1939 was going to be a year to remember.
Thank you for the comment and translation. My first thoughts were along the lines of astrology or strange new year greeting.
I think you summed it up well with the word weird.
This one posted from Berchtesgaden.

No swaz with this one but still a worthy symbol of strength and beauty on it's own.

If that is Ernst Rohm behind Adolf, it is a pre 7/34 card.
Good eye, and excellent reference point Dave.
Thanks for the input.
Maybe the uniforms give a clue and I didn't see any daggers.
I was told 1929 but wasn't Rohm in Bolivia from 1928 til 1930?
A small blurry picture here that has ss fuhrer written on the reverse.
I felt the officer on the right resembled Heydrich based on posture and what could be seen.
Just a guess and can't be confirmed because of the blur.
Gauleiter Rust
I think that is Bruckner behind Hitler, along with Krause in the Kyffhauser photo.
The two SS Officers...the one on the left looks like Von Eberstein, Police President and the other could indeed be Heydrich.
Great hearing the the id's Tristan. It's been very helpful in the learning process. So thanks for the help.
Just learned Krause wrote his memoirs regarding his time with Hitler.
I thought a possible ID for the glasses wearing man in the Kyffhauser card...Seyss-Inquart?
I don't know the origin. Looks like a flyer by the size.
I think it looks more like a foreign visitor. Italian, perhaps. Cannot ID the award he is wearing on his tunic.
great card as usual Dean,,please keep 'em coming...
Rohm? absolutely... Heydrich?,,thats a bit difficult. The height is there,,the buttoned up coat, yes posture,,too bad we can't see the face just a little bit better!!!!... More please!!

Swaz card.
Fegelein
I've seen this postcard more so without the runic symbols.
Himmler's ideal of lebensraum??
This last card quotes the closing stanza of Goethe's poem ' Human Limitations.' This is the idea of us all being linked to the past, and to future, generations in a circle of life. This breads loyalty to the kin, instilled in all SS.
In the car cavalcade are our old friends Krause and Bruckner, and in the second car Hess with possibly Lutze behind him.
The motor cavalcade? No, that is the arrival in Nuremberg for one of the Rally Days.
,,Man!, that 'Swaz card' is stunning!!!
Fegeleins 'Oaks' to his KC look weird...
Thanks. The comments and info are useful.

Who carries the blood flag?
The original bearer of the blood flag has been Heinrich Trambauer. But I do not think this leader resembles Trambauer. I think to remember that there has been a man after Trambauer but cannot remember who it was.
Grimminger, the later and last bearer of the blood flag is (in the photograph) left of the blood flag bearer.

If not Trambauer maybe Joseph Berchtold??
I read a bit about Trambauer and he had a rough life.
Posting on page 2 (#311004 - 09/07/15 05:5PM) shows a photo of Grimminger in early style headgear so I thought he carried the flag from a early date.
Post on page 17 (#319568 - 06/23/16 09:22 AM) showing a possibility of one of these 2 officers to the side of Grimminger behind Hitler at a parade.
Wonder who was responsible for the positioning of these personalities at these events and functions.
Thanks for the help and input Tristan and Wotan.

I would of missed this if you hadn't mentioned it. Awesome.
Here is a unposted card that's reveres is crammed with neat writing.
Gau Sachsen sent to Dresden with nice script on reverse.
Photo postcard. Any reconizable figures besides Hitler??
Small mounted print. I'm not sure what it's purpose was or why the artist included a olive branch in 1940.
Cool initials(?) to the right of the 9.
yeah,,1940 with a olive branch! , but the ever present Oaks & Laurel there too
... Great prints here too!,,keep 'em coming!!
A name search on these 2 items led to information posted by Heimatschuss on 26 Mar 2013, 10:10 via Axis History Forum regarding the names...Franz & Ann Vietoris.
Ann was a Frauenschaftsfuhrerin till the end of the war and a daughter of Austrian Feldmarschalleutnant Viktor Severus.
Franz Vietoris was a state prison doctor in Krems-Stein (locked iron bars and keys on art).
According to the information the couple commited suicide in may 1945
No idea why the SA logo appears or what the snakes (very detailed under magnigication) are about.
Any additional info/input,translation, photo, would be great. Thanks

Vietoris art 2.
Again by same artist with Franz and Ann Vietoris named.
Maybe a birth announcement??
Damaged Albert Forster card.. Danzig Gauleiter with 1929 badge.
Posted with corespondence dated March 2, 1936
I can see why this one placed in a photo competition.
Bigger than a postcard with a non typical Agfa marking.
What a great shot. The only ones not wearing a smile are on crowd control.
Portrait of a man finally realizing his dream.
Mailed a month after the begining of operation Barbarossa.
Adolf Hitler cuff titles.
Dean.,,
Yeah,,his dream,,our nightmare.!
The Vietoris Frauenschaftsfuhrerin 2 pieces are Super! The SA/Snakes one is magnificent! Yeah bet the detail up close is really nice. You could probably sell posters of it!!!!!
And White ammo belt boxes and cross strap! GREAATTT! to see that for me!, when I was a teenager I had a gasmask / can with the straps.
The cool thing was,,it was all black, even a black mask inside and black straps all around. In the inside lid it was named to a LAH man. Name, exact unit, an ID[?] number,,maybe his dogtag #..
At first I didn't know much about it. But then a friend showed me a series of photo cards of LAH guys standing on duty and you could see the mask can /straps were all black! Your card looked like one of the series I saw,,,but can't remember exactly,,[it was a few years ago 1974!]..
*Great photos/cards,good to see,,thanks for sharing them with us...,G.
No. 218...I think the SS Officer to the left is Freiherr von Ebberstein, Munich Chief of Police.
Tristan-
Thanks a lot for helping out on the ID's.
I would say your right on Freiherr von Ebberstein.
From the little I read he had ties with Heydrich and a interesting nsdap carrer.
Moving on to post a card.
Grimminger looks to be wearing a 1929 RPT badge.
I wonder if these were given out at the actual event and if this particular photograph was taken during that rally.
Also... is his iron cross with ribbon worn in a out of the ordinary way?
I think he is just wanting it to be seen!
Victor Lutze behind Hitler.
ccc
Any ideas on location,timeframe,id's,event?? Thanks
Sholtz Klink card.
Looking at the Arrow insignia on the left upper-arm of most (all?) the SA Leaders this is the SA Fuhrerschule. I cannot identify the guy to Hitler's left but that maybe aPLM award he is wearing.
What is that arrow patch on their left shoulder ? I should know, but I have forgotten if I ever knew it.
I have also seen it on SS officer's uniforms.
Thanks
Thank you for the starting point Tristan.
I tried getting 2 close ups thinking it may give additional information, but the photos aren't coming out that clear.
Two of the officers have a awrard worn around their neck and the soilder located top center has white collar tabs.
Also some nice looking stained glass in the center..wish I could see the whole thing.
I thought the arrow/ty rune had something to do with recruitment but am not 100% sure.
Any thought if this photo is pre 1/30/1933?
1)
3)
It is, I think, the Munich Reichsfuhrerschule for SA, NSKK and ( up to 1934) SS Leaders.
In the photo I see at least one NSKK Officer, but no SS so perhaps this is post 1934.
I do not have it any more, but I seem to remember the inside cover of Charles Hamilton's book ' Leaders and Personalities of the Third Reich,' Vol. 1 had a photo very similar to yours and perhaps another Forum member could check that.
As to the neck award that is a mystery. I can only think of the PLM, but the image is unclear.
It is, I think, the Munich Reichsfuhrerschule for SA, NSKK and ( up to 1934) SS Leaders.
In the photo I see at least one NSKK Officer, but no SS so perhaps this is post 1934.
Good point... if that was the case wouldn't there be daggers?
I thought about the 2 awards being the pour le merite.
It appears the two highest ranking officers in the photo have the award.
Another Sholtz Klink card posted 1 day after the 1937 rally with typical Nurnberg party day eagle ink stamp.
Reissued 33/34 card with 1929 Nurnberg rally subject.
On the big group photo, I would guess late 20's / early 30's when the SA were organized enough to have uniforms, but not 100% standardized.
- As noted, no daggers
- Some guys are wearing puttees, not boots.
- Rank badges vary in size and color
- Uniforms vary in color and the ties are not all the same
- The Kepis do not seem to vary by rank. No sleeve ranks.
I have an album of over 100 pictures of a Sturm in 1934/5 and by that time they had daggers, and standardized uniforms.
What a super shot of Karl Wolff's SS Officers sword!
Postmarked from Berlin 29/6/39 and ink stamped Tag der Deutschen Kunst.
Beautiful script correspondence.
Any ideas on what the monument's plaque says?
Thanks
This Lion commemorates the Battle of Isted (1850) in Schleswig-Holstein, in which the Danes were the victors.
From the text it looks as though this statue is at the gates of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler barracks in Berlin.
A very rare card!
Silhouette postcard
Hitler at wachenfeld. SS wear Adolf Hitler Cuff title.
This photo was part of a larger group that was described as being an award ceremony for Galland.
Munich
Hitler wearing the 1933 RPT badge?
Honor temple under construction.
(photo weighted down due to curling)
the photo with AH and the bloodflag,,,it kind of does look like a 33RPT but it kind of looks big..
And his BWB looks odd too,,even his EK1,,that almost looks like a cloth version! probably just the photo...
I agree Gaspare.
Placing the cherry on top next door to the ehrentempel.
Take a close look at the scaffolding...made from timbers but got the job done without bureaucracy and the end product was far better than the styrofoam and plastic junk they put up now-a-days.
This was in the same group of Munich constuction photos.
Architects and building supervisors?? Maybe Troost and Leonhard Gall??
Early stages of ehentempel that appear to have been taken from a upper level of fuhrerbau.
Armed soilders/guards in front of delivery truck.
Feldherrnhalle
Munich photographer's stamp on reverse.
Most wearing the blood order.
Prauge
Well known Munchen glass/mosaic studio's stamp on reverse. Under it is script mentioning mosaic and professor Diebitsch.
Eagle and shields appear individually cut out then photographed (maybe for a art project).
No idea if ever started or if completed where displayed.
Nice looking bookplate with runes made up from many individual lines and a very cool looking skull.
Also thought it was unusual to see a raven with sword instead of a traditional eagle
Anyone know anything on Dr. Wolfgang Rabe?
Thanks
Thick stock postcard that has the look of a high quality portrait.
Seldom seen imo compared to Eicke's obergruppenfuhrer postcard photograph.
Trimmed upper and lower margins make the majority of the 1st descriptive line on reverse unreadable. 2nd line reads 'Berlin Lichterfelde'.
Posted from Berlin with correspondence dated july 2,1936.
Back of building??
Engraved plaque above center gate pillar or above door? On the right and left of it looks to be the intertwined lah.
you mean like these.... Yes, some were very thin stock.. almost like the Cigarette cards thickness,,,or should I say 'thinness'.
Some bookplates/art prints
Great details lost in the downsize for some reason.
Multiple combined lines make the black letters that goes un-noticed until magnified.
Dr. Hans Dornauer found to be a standartenfuhrer thanks to info on Axis History.
Mentioned as Police president Innsbruck also.
Pressed so hard I thought it was 2 different pieces.

Andy,
That's not the Feldherrnhalle. That is one of two "Honor Temples" on the East side of the Konigsplatz,on the corner of Briennerstrasse and Arcisstrassein, in Munich.
When Hitler came to power he had the sixteen thugs who were killed at the Feldherrnhalle dug up and buried eight in each of the temples. After the war, the thugs were dug up again and reburied. The temples were destroyed. Today they are two creepy vacant lots completely overgrown.
HI DAVE
-happy new years yes one thugs name was horst wesel one german wrote the words to the horst wessel song man that when played will put you in the groove buying those s/a daggers und eating a saurbratten meal und a cold german brew yavol meine commeraden dave thanks for the pictures see you soon behind tom wittmans table the york pennsylvania will be a great show glad we got out of pittsberg no buisness just a dealers show for over ten years have a great day god bless andy militarynut
Andy,
No, Horst Wessel was not killed at the Feldherrnhalle in 1923. He was a far-right activist who joined the SA, became a local leader in Berlin, and died a couple of weeks or so after being shot in the face in 1930. Goebbels was in need of a good propaganda idol and Wessel was chosen. His history was re-written to the point that it is difficult to separate the real from the invented.
Some versions of his death suggest that he was a pimp and got shot when a deal went wrong.
see you in York, Andy
Dave
hi dave
sounds like you know about horst wessel you are correct i know he was shot in the streets and he might have been a street pimp but truthfuklly who really knows some times i am starting to forget untill i go to bed about third reich incidents then i get back on the comp and blast away as general george patton said to bradley i love this shit brad since i was six years old in 1945 bklyn new york i played with everything the soldiers brough back i could write a book juat wish i had the schooling but hey cant have everything thanks dave god bless andy militarynut
Rohms last nov.9 ceremony.
Wonder if the wheels were already turning in Hitler's mind for a Rohm demise option.
Looking at that face ... I think that?s a safe yes!
That or bad bratwurst for lunch
lol. Maybe Dave...but based on track record I think murder was a stronger possibility, plus wasn't Hitler vegetarian?? I read the thought of animal cruelty made him very uncomfortable...an admirable trait imo.
A bookplate of Gerd Ruhle , publisher of the series Das Dritte Reich. A early nsdap party member 694. Also holder gpb, ss honor ring and sword according to wikpedia.
excellent PC! , , Rohm was a dead man walking after AH made Chancellor,,,,Himmler whispering in one ear and 'Der Fat One' in the other,,No honor among psychopaths, thieves! and that they all were..
Ruhles bookplate,,,what book it on? anything interesting?
Dean - Vegan* Bratwurst ?
Actually, R?hm was a dead man walking since the earliest days. He felt that Hitler was a good at speeches and for attracting new members but that the D.A.P. should be run by officers and leaders such as himself. The feud simmered until the Beer Hall Putsch with neither having enough power to oust the other.
After was released from Landsberg, he rebuilt the SS first, then the SA, but with a leader as a "chief of staff".
R?hm then left for South America
Dave
* Vegan means Bad Hunter or Poor Shot in some languages
Gaspare..the bookplate is unattatched.
A large 1.5' x 2' print to show...possibly early.
'Treu deutsch allerwege' on the reverse of shield. WW2 era air defense/ RLB subject matter??
I don't recognize the helmet or possibly a unknown fictional character created by the artist.
Wikipedia list Graf Zepplin on 2 December 1938, over Reichenberg capital of Sudetenland timed to match Hitler's visit.
Small parachutes were thrown out with swastika flags and handbills carrying the text "Dein JA dem Fuhrer!"
LZ 130's loudspeakers played music and National Socialist propaganda for the forthcoming December 4 elections. Afterwards flew to the Reichenberg airfield and dropped 663 kg of postally cacheted souvenir mails.
Small art plate.
Dean...,
The 'Dein JA dem Fuhrer' card is spectacular. The Zeppelin ink stamp on reverse is really nice!
Years ago my friend helped [with his collection] with a big 2 volume hardcover books on 3rd reich postcards. My books went out with the tide some years ago but just wondering:
Do you have the books? are some of your PCs in them?... , Thanks, Gaspare
Hi Gaspare
I've heard about these books but never have seen them. Bet they're awesome and a great reference. Thanks for bringing it up.
A frauenschaft card to add with reverse having a invite for a mother's cross presentation the day after christmas.
Wondering about who Topf is (guest house hosting event) and the i.d. of the ortsgruppenleiter that sent the invite.
I searched ortsgruppenleiter Eberschwang 1939 but got nothing that appeared similar.
John Karickhoff sold me this one shortly before his passing...nice rising sun card. rip and thanks John
Photo group...not sure the sequence.
Hitler on his way to honor temples
1)
2)
3)
Since the lot content was the same...maybe a horse drawn funeral procession to the temples.
The un-coated participants appear to be wearing blood orders.
4)
5)
all very nice..
that rising sun Swas with SS men too, really nice! ,,would love to inspect that with a good magnifying glass!!!
Another honor temple under construction photo.
3rd reich era book plate
Anyone recognize the sd sturmbannfuhrer or whats going on here? Looking for any information on this one.
Reverse mentions Dr. Wieland, Olmutz and a word I can't read. Dated Jan. 1941
Thanks
Holiday card dated Dec.29, 1933... 87 years ago to the day.
Here is one I recently found:
Armored truck with 7 guys and a cool death's head.
But I like the short guy in the middle on the ground. "Stumpy" Stumpfnagel ?
Thick paper stock.
Adolf Wagner invite to Nov. 9 celebration.
No idea what this is about/for.

Dam that is one weird looking eagle on the library card above.!
, anyone notice the medal bar on the guy on right in post #348384 above?!? That thing has got to be close to a foot long!
That guy is an OBERsturmbahnfuhrer but the badges seem to look slightly different than I remember seeing.
I am not sure he's an German SS guy, but he is a party member.
Who else used those ranks ?
Dave
Could be a member of Der Stahlhelm. They were accepted into the SA in 1932 and used SA ranks on black tabs from late 1933 until they were disbanded and absorbed into the SA in 1935. Medal bar looks like it could be for a decorated WW1 vet
Thanks on the id attempt for the sd officer. That medal bar may help out Gaspare.
Looked like some type of formal gathering. The search continues.
Coburg 20th anniversary attendee card.
3rd reich artist Gottfried Neukam book plate.
Recent controversy trying to erase his name from belonging to a german school.
About the size of a large book page.
Maybe a doctor's new year greeting.
Appears A.H. street in Hamburg?
the Coburg piece is stunning!
Glad to post it Gaspare and appreciate the medal bar clue on Dr. Wieland in Olmütz.
A further search turned up the site territorial.de with mention:
"1942 Government Councilor Dr. Wieland in Olomouc" and "1. 1. 1940
also refered to "Olomouc in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia" so I guess it's a start.
Not sure the sd officer in the photo is the doctor the site is mentioning but it's a start. Maybe I'll see if i can find access to the ss dients list.
A Phillipp Bouhler card to post.
Looks like the photo might pre date the award of the golden party badge since he wears the standard party member's pin on his tie.
Julfest greeting.
Possibly troop morale oriented given from Hermann Pister of Buchenwald.
Description stated early austrian.
Posted Klosterheide lebensborn postcard.
According to Wikpedia: "In the 1930s the clinic became one of the main locations of the Lebensborn e. V., a National Socialist organization".
Showing the reverse in case there might any thing intresting...possibly a Heil Hitler bottom left.
Thanks for any translation help

Dean,,maybe I missed it but,,,
What do you keep these in? A 'photo' box? Or a album? I have a ton of old USSR propaganda PCs.. Had them in a photo box. Recently my son gave me his old baseball card albums [empty]. Thinking about getting the PC pages and using that..
Hi Gaspare, your question was answered on 4/19 in Bill's imperial art thread...wish I had an ideal and affordable method of display but don't.
I know you being a comic art/comic guy, you're aware of mylar and archival-grade storage methods.
Ideally it would be nice imo if put in period to the time album. Maybe a frame for the one's that are special to you. Good luck and I would be interested to know if you find a great solution.
Posting this unusual one that looks somewhat home-made having a thin protective cover and writing on the reverse.
If anyone can translate (if worthy or not a problem) that would be great. Thanks
Himmler and Streicher not saluting for some reason.
Hubert Woyty-Wimmer destined stamp engraver...nice inital placement top right.
Postcard would display nice behind a honor ring.
Not the best art here but not often seen and decent subject matter.
Hitler and Ludendorff.
Reverse shot.Looks to of been mounted in album.
Self titled.
Small art sheet.Maybe put together to recognize achievement.
Wow, this is neat! The art style almost looks the same as what Mike Mignola does for Hellboy.
Wow, this is neat! The art style almost looks the same as what Mike Mignola does for Hellboy.
Here's an edited version without the quote. I think it looks cooler this way!
Here's probably my best postcard: The Führer and his posse. I think the shot is very nicely framed. This piece is in very good condition!
Dean has some wonderful collection of PCs and photos and this is a great topic!!
- ASmith,,,our off to a good start with your AH card!!
Do you live in the states? There is the MAX show coming up in York PA. You can get VERY lucky at some of the big shows IF, if you have the patience to look thru the stacks of 'stuff' and a very good chance you'll find a good PC or photo...
Thanks! Yep, I'm in NH and PA isn't really that far. It's not anything I really considered before, but...I am seriously considering it now, lol. At the very least, I'll cross of going to a convention off of my bucket list.
ccc card/photo...deep crap for either grade.

Postal stamped 11/9/1937.
Possibly Grimminger in middle with the blood flag?
If so I wonder what was the custom for the light colored tunic of the 3 central figures.
33 event postcard with Grimminger in black uniform behind Adolf Wagner.
Lots of detail and clarity in those old postcards.

Lots of detail and clarity in those old postcards.

For sure DJ.
It's great when you can see a familiar cuff title, award, or collar tab under magnification. Like a clue in the puzzle when your fortunate enough to get clear registration.
NAPOLA postcard to view. According to Wiki one of the earlier schools.
I'm sure these guys paid dearly to be in such a magnificent place but had to sense they were of extreme value to their country.

My thoughts exactly DJ.
Here's a few more napola's...
This one posted in 1935 (?) with 'Schloz Oranienstein uber Diez' ink stamp and possibly a heil Hitler in text.
Example 2 posted in1939 from Koslin school.
And a non-photographed piece of art that has nothing to do with the above subject.
Why there's two signatures and year dates along the bottom I have no idea??
#1 Schloz Oranienstein, has a commanding view of the countryside.
#2 Did they embellish or add the flag above the Koslin school?
#3 Danish. (DNSAP).
Thanks for sharing.
--dj--Joe
It sure looks like an embellished flag doesn't it. I've seen that before even on leibstandarte barracks cards or knights cross awards.
Thanks for the Danish nazi clue.
I didn't internet search Frits Clausen to learn he was the leader of the DNSAP and was overlooking the obvious. Goes to show how another perspective is key. Appreciate your input and time.
Maybe the snake in the illustration has something to do with Clausen's early carrer in medicine before getting involved in politics.
True to my people and myself.
Lots of symbolism on that piece. Knight, sword, snake, thorn bush, pedestal, etc. The knight appears to be presenting food or water to the snake.
Symbolism is usually lost on me.
--dj--Joe
Thought, since it is a book plate is one name and date the artist and the other the bibliophile? Or, is the book about Clausen or does the plate mean it was his property?
Coburg commemorative postcard.

Corresponding stamp and reverse of flieger KP 16 card.
Hans Volkert 3rd reich era art.
The side art within eagle silhouette, imperial crown with jew another nationality being expelled by national socialist, and shaky hand text is somewhat a mystery.
Apparently Volkert died in 1945 but cause of death or if due to war is unknown to me.
Here's one you don't see every day.
Info quoted from Wikipedia:
Ernst Pöhner (11 January 1870 – 11 April 1925) was Munich's Chief of Police ('Green' Police President) from 1919 to 1922. He was a vigorous anti-communist and anti-Semite who was in office when Bavarian Minister President Gustav Ritter von Kahr had Ostjuden, or "Eastern Jews", expelled from Bavaria. As part of an anti-Semitic campaign throughout Germany in 1920, Kahr ordered the mass expulsion from Bavaria of the so-called Eastern Jews, many of whom had lived there for generations.[1]
Pöhner was also instrumental in mounting terror and in supporting Organisation Consul death squads, which carried out politically motivated murders with the intent of destabilizing the country and installing a right-wing dictatorship. Confronted with the charge that entire groups of right-wing political assassins were at large and working in and around Munich, he reportedly said: "Yes ... but too few of them."[2]
Pöhner was closely linked to Gustav von Kahr, who had his own plans for overthrowing the government of the Weimar Republic but who opposed the 1923 Hitler Beer Hall Putsch. Pöhner was a central figure in the putsch and was to be named Bavaria's minister president if the coup succeeded. He was subsequently convicted with Hitler in 1924 of high treason and sentenced to five years in prison. While in prison, Pöhner switched to the German National People's Party. He was released from prison on 31 March 1925.[3][4]
Pöhner died in a car accident the following month. He is mentioned in Hitler's Mein Kampf. During the Nazi era, a street was named after Pöhner. The name was changed back in 1946.
