Hello,
I know Pack Rohm's are heavily faked and I have never owned an example. What are the opinions of this inscription? My photos are not the best, but I tried to capture from two different angles both the etching and color. The acid etching and color appear the same as in the EP&S logo, but I don't know if that means anything or not. Definitely not an area of even the slightest expertise here. Thank you in advance.

Hi, I should better stay silent because I'm a complet newbie in the matter and there are real "gurus" in here... As I usually do, I wont say tnis is good or bad, just mention what calls my attention. I'm conscious of my limitations.

I like the inscription. If something calls my attention is that it is too close to the maker logo. I've seen other Pack full Rohms where the inscription is slighly to the left... say one centimeter further from the logo.

Gurus will correct me or not and we well all learn... that's what it is all about.

I thing it would be interesting to see also pictures from grip... al least lower crossguard to see distance from logo to lower cross...

Kind regards,

Marc.

As a reference... as you can see here:

http://phpstack-500133-1583587.cloudwaysapps.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=332371#Post332371

The problem in this other one is in the maker mark in itself, but, in addition, distances in the fake one (last pic) are incorrect. The maker logo is far from the lower crossguard and close to the motto...

This is what I'm pointing in my previous post.

Bests,

Marc

Marc,
Thank you for your courteous welcome to the forum and your input on the dagger. Here are a couple different photos of the distance of the logo from the guard. It measures 9/16" from the guard to the bottom of the logo and roughly 1/4" from the top of the logo to the inscription. Wittman has a couple examples on his site with the high placed logos, but they are both ground examples so I cant tell how close they were to the inscription. Just for reference the inscription starts 2 3/4" from the blade point on the example posted. I appreciate the input and this dagger came in a lot buy and I assumed upon purchase that it was guilty until proven innocent.
Thanks,
Mike
