I HAVE TWO OF THE LUFTWAFFE SWORDS AND WAS WONDERING ABOUT A BRIEF HISTORY ON THEM AND ALSO WHAT ONE MIGHT BE WORTH THAT IS IN ALMOST PERFECT SHAPE. IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME OUT I WOULD SURE APPRECIATE IT.

It would really be helpful to have some pictures to see just exactly what it is that you are asking about. Because some fairly good reproductions of Luftwaffe swords have been made, and then there is the matter of condition. With some sellers of TR artifacts descriptions being quite different than what a buyer or specialist collector might consider to be in the same condition. FP

I'M NOT SURE HOW TO POST PICS BUT I HAVE BENN LOOKING ALL DAY AT DIFFERENT PICS AND PRICES, I WOULD SAY THAT ONE OF MY SWORDS IS IN BETTER SHAPE THAN ANY I HAVE SEEN. AS FOR AUTHENTICITY I KNOW IT IS GENUINE, IT WAS MY FATHER IN LAWS WHO WAS IN THE NAVY DURING THIS ERA. ALSO I SHOWED SOME PICS TO A BUYER WHO BOUGHT SOME DAGGERS FROM ME AND HE KNOWS THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL ALSO. I NEED TO SELL THE BUT I JUST DON'T WANT TO GET RIPPED OF, I KNOW I WON'T GET RICH ON THEM BUT I HOPE TO AT LEAST GET A FAIR PRICE.

Without seeing what is being discussed it’s awfully hard to make any kind of judgment for or against an item or items, originality, prices etc. etc. I also understand that nobody likes getting ripped off, and here is a thread with some general advice for buying and selling. FP

You should be aware that the LW swords come in two basic configurations. The earlier ones have nickel-silver hilt and scabbard fittings. The later ones have such fittings of aluminum. Generally, the earlier ones are more desirable and bring a higher price. This assumes. of course, the condition of the two types are equal, or nearly so.
