It is an Italian leaders dagger given to Adolph by Mussolini. There are numerous photos of his visit.

While I can not see the hanger on your photo to verify if he is wearing the chain or leather hanger. But, what you show here is an Italian High leaders dagger which is what Adolph was presented.
In other words, same model, doubtful if the one pictured.

I believe the grips on high leaders' daggers were ivory. The knot on the above picture looks darker than the one in the AH pic, maybe age toning?
What makes you think the dagger is the one that was originally presented?

I don't mean the same piece... just the same model. Just trying to guess what type of dagger was AH wearing in that pic.
