When I was in the Army in the mid-60's, Chrome plated helmets were often seen on Military Police during parades or guarding high ranking officers.

Anyone got one ? It occurred to me at the Raleigh show last weekend that I have never seen on at any show or here on GDC.

Dave,
My neighbor has one and asked me what they were used for and it's value. I could only respond what you mentioned and have no idea of it's value never seen one for sale to compare, he travels alot so next time he's in town i'll ask to take some pic's.

I have a couple of the chromed helmets and I think that they also have white chin straps. They are in a footlocker and I have not seen them for awhile.

I also have a chrome helmet that was my uncles. He was in the navy in the very early seventies.

The chrome helmets were used in the 1960s and 1970s a lot for color guards, (flag bearers) at parades, formations and ceremonies. Also for issue to the least liked member of the company in combat.
