Here is a very interesting variation by Holler put out very early.. Looks to be WKC fitted all around and finished by Holler. The scabbard even has the single flush mounted rear screw holding the throat. The cross guard is the real treat though.. look at that fierce eagle! This fine example came out of the Ford Crews collection to me at the SOS show here in the USA.. Ford had spotted another Holler worked WKC fitted piece like this and said that he had probably missed many others due to thinking they were the more common WKC marked pieces.. I welcome your comments! Best, Kevin.

Oh man, this forum really has become tough... Even in a non dagger focused forum you got more answers.

heers68, you have a really nice and very seldom to be seen variant I personally did not know. Appealing patination! For a heer dagger specialized collector nearly impossible to find.

So much still to learn for us.

Congratulations to your find, regards,

Perhaps the reason for the slow forum also can be found in the disapearing-post-problem.

Great piece...never seen this variation before, congrats.
Its interesting to note that on some of these early pieces the blade appears wider at the top near the cross guard than on later blades. I have an early Eickhorn that has a similar blade shape.

Hello Gerrit1963, it is a technical problem which goes on since august. Now it seems that it will be fixed.

In our Community Center (see below) Vern has written:
We finally got the new translation tables and will be loading them in the next day or two. That should resolve the "disappearing text" problem. I'll post again as soon as they are loaded and tested. Thanks to everyone for your patience wink

Hope this helps, regards,
