I dont know if its the photo but that grip eagle is looking really fat!! it does not look consistent with other SA grip eagles. This one has the ultra high neck. IMO not a good eagle and this grip is not mint due to the contour ridges not being sharp. Poor upper crossguard fit also,,not flush with the wood. IMO not good at all.
Historical Stewardship is a Trusted Honor that must be kept!

This grip may be one of the last generation of fakes that came out about 2 yrs ago- they are very very good and I can only distinguish them with a close up exam. The first point of contention is just that the overall condition is too good for a grip that is supposed to be almost 80 yrs old. Needs exam-Mike

I agree. The eagle is too plump and looks it was bred by Tyson - an Ameroican chicken processor. The wings are too large top to bottom and the neck too long. The bottom hole does not look right and, as Mike notes, the finish is too uniform. I think the eagle is made of a pewter-like metal.
